Best Bluetick

I have hunted with several good booticks but the one that I liked the best was Dancers Domino. He aint your average bootick when he opens his mouth he was soon to be belly up under a coon. I hunted with him when Don Sexton had him.

another good one

Gr Nite Ch Northern Blue Curly. He was out of Jet IV and was a world champion bluetick.

It would be hard to find a dog of any color that would get treed faster than Curly would. I have seen him tree coon 30 yards off the leash in a dead run, and half a mile deep in a dead run.

He always left like a greyhound in a race, literally throwing dirt on you when he left. We dumped him about 1/4 of a mile from the timber once and I started the time on him when he was cut loose. One minute forty five seconds later he was on the wood about 3/8 of a mile from where we cut him loose. I never saw him on a slick or a den. I'm sure he would hit one once in a while but it was pretty rare.

Best Blueticks

The best two I ever hunted with were Gr.Nt.Ch. Coz's Sparetime Spanky and Gr.Nt.Ch. Northern Blue Curly.

I was talking with my buddy Butch Nix about this and he said that he only had two Blueticks in his Hall of Fame and they were Outlaw Blue Bandit ownded by Steve Nance of South Carolina and Stokley's Treeing Duke owned by Joe Stokley also from South Carolina. He told me it was an absolute privelege to have been to the woods with these two hounds. I wish I could have seen them go.

Ed Mead has owned a couple that could tree a coon.

Spanky and Curly were World Class hounds.

butch is right, i hunted with both dogs. hunted a bunch with steve & never heard blue open on anything but a coon. i was a nonhunting judge on joe's cast one nite, i think duke was 9 years old & he was really shining. both dogs been dead 25 years or more.

Coon dog hands down. One of a kind that went opposite way from dogs when they barked, treed his own coon but would tree with them if he ran the track. Super loud and keen bawl mouth that could be heard nearly a mile away. I miss hunting him now more then ever. Pure natural that never needed "tuned up" doubt ill ever see another one like him.

I hunted with Curly and he was flat out fast! He would throw rocks and dirt in your face when cut loose. In a minute and 46 seconds he was close to 600 yards deep with the meat. I thought it was gonna be a slick at first. Base of tree was about 5 inches in diameter. There was a coon in a tree about 10 feet away, but Jack was insistant that Curly didn't miss. After about 7 minutes of shining this dinky tree we finally found the coon.

I think it was about 7000 coon that Jack had estimated he had treed with Curly. Which seems like a ton but they have a lot of coon up there. I saw a 13 month old son of Curly tree 4 with all of them 1st and 1st in about 15 minutes of hunting time.

Corey Thoresons Brandy dog hands down. She treed 5 singles and never missed. There were some pretty decent dogs in the woods that night and she made them all look Silly. I feel I can say that because I had a dog in the woods that night that got it put on him pretty bad. She treed coon the other dogs never even knew existed. SHE IS A DANDY!

Gary Uchtman's Ranger VI.

He got tick fever when he was 2, and couldn't be hunted hard or in hot weather afterward, so he never got the opportunity to shine like he should have.

But he was maybe the most talented coon treer I ever went to the woods with when he was feeling good.

Smart as a Border Collie, quick on both ends and deadly accurate.

He could tree any kind of a coon.

I saw that dude put on a coon treeing clinic one night that I will never forget.
