No, not on a comparative scale.

They play a HS schedule compared to the SEC teams.

There's prolly 6 teams in the SEC that could go undefeated with their schedule.

They would lose at least 3 games if they played in the SEC.

The toll of an entire year causes wear and tear injuries.

You sayin that Boise would have injuries just like the SEC team would be like claiming a truck that was take to town only, had 50000 highway miles and never had anything halued in it vs a farm truck that hauled a gooseneck 3 times a week with 200 thousand miles on it are comparable in wear and the work truck will be in just as good a shape as the highway truck.

Why should Boise travel? Cause they haven't done it on the field yet. They don't have the fan base to justify not traveling. The big schools need so many home games a year to pay for their travel and to help the university etc. They save their home and away series for true real football matchups.

Nobody in the SEC is afraid to travel to Boise (well except maybe Florida LOL).

Tennessee routinely schedules the toughest non conference schedule out there. Home and home with Oregon, Cal, UCLA, on and on and on. Boise isn't worth a home and home. It's not worth giving up all that money to travel to their place. What have you gained if you beat them? Nothing cause they are an upstart.

Before a team is worth a home and away series there needs to be something for the big time program to benifit from. That means the team has to be big enough to mean something if they win and help with recruiting.

If you beat Boise it's just beating Boise. If you lose to Boise it's embarassing because you lost to Boise.

When they get big enough not to be an embarassment to lose to them and for it to mean something if someone beats them THEN they can ask for a home and home.

Til then get your travelin shoes on and go take on the big boys at their house.

I garentee you almost any SEC team will schedule them as a home game. Some of them would schedule them for HOMECOMING

O.K. read my post more carefully. I said I'm not a fan. I hear it all the time from you "Die hard" Buck fans, about how good OSU is. They are good. Why won't they schedule a mediocre SEC team. They don't have to play Bama or LSU. Steve Spurrier would play em. So would Tennessee. SEC is the football conference. For what its worth though I think OSU would beat the crap out of Oregon or Boise St. this year, because of their defense.

Lou Holtz predicted Alabama would beat Arkansas, Florida, and lose to
SC. Sounds like a man who knows a little about college football. To you SEC fans, you guys probably know more than him about football anyway!

Yes I am a die-hard Buckeye fan, and why wouldn`t I be, I grew up here!
Ohio State has played home and home against USC, Texas, and the U, for the past 5 years. Schedules are made up for several years, so you just don`t go out and ask Spurrier to play a game. If I`m not mistaken, Ohio
State has Tennessee on a home and home in a couple of years, but not
sure!
I`ve already said, I think the SEC is the best conference, but they aren`t
the only ones who beat up on each other. Michigan, Penn St., Iowa, Wisconsin, Mich. St. and even Illini are pretty descent!

What cracks me up is all this hype of how the SEC is always great, this and that SEC this SEC that. When they play non confrence games they NEVER blow other confrence teams out. So by them always playing each other tough the fans think there something special every year. Guys say Georgia and Tennessee would only have 2 or 3 losses this year if they were in a weaker confrence is a joke.

Rip youre team doesn't ever deserve to be said in the same sentence as Boise State. Boise would beat them by 30 or more. Look what Oregon did to them and Oregon hasn't played anybody. They had to go in to OT to beat a pathetic UAB team who has one win on the year. Georgia can't even beat Colorado.

There is 3 good solid teams in the SEC, South Carolina, Alabama, and Arkansas. It's a simple as that. The rest of the SEC with exception of LSU and Auburn is just avarage teams that are good at home and terrible on the road.

Youre top SEC team (LSU) had to squek a win out against West Virginia and North Carolina and both of those teams are nothing shy of average and both games were HOME.

Isn't it funny how all the SEC teams 90% of the time have HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE against non confrence teams?

Posted by Virgil on 10-15-2010 03:20 PM:

To say the SEC is not the best conference just shows a lack of knowledge of college football. I want say that Boise is a cupcake but I do not believe they are a national championship team either. Like I said before I believe they would be a 2, 3 or more loss team if they played an SEC schedule.

As for the best conference debate the SEC has a 14-5, .737% record in BCS bowl games. They are 6-0 in national championship games, winning the last 4. The next best conference is the Big10 with a 10-11 record, thats an under .500 record. The Pac10 has the second best winning percentage at 8-5, .615% but part of those wins has since been vacated due to USC losing its wins as part of the Reggie Bush scandal.

Until another conference steps up you have to put the SEC as the top conference.

I never said it wasn't the best confrence! I am saying many people think the SEC is the god confrence of football like they walk on water. There just teams and this year there are several teams in about 5 different confrences that would go back and forth with each other all game long. Like I said i'm out to see the best team win NOT the best confrence! I also enjoy watching exciting teams such as Boise State play. When tomorrow rolls around there will ony be 1 un beaten team left in the SEC. Next week there won't be any!

Posted by dbpro56 on 10-15-2010 04:56 PM:

OSU plays @ Wisconsin tomorrow. Going in as the #1 ranked team in the
country. As I said before in this same thread, I don`t think they`re the best team, maybe not even the top 5. Madison is a crazy place to go play, especially @ 7:00 p.m. on a Saturday night. These are the type of games
the elite teams win. I`m hoping the Bucks play like an elite team, and not
have that terrible offense Jim Tressel is famous for. Gonna be a tough game! Hope your team wins, unless its Wisconsin!

LSU HAD A GIFT HANDED TO THEM BY WEST VIRGINIA. AND YES IT WAS AT LSU. BRING THEM TO MORGANTOWN NEXT TIME. WEST VIRGINAI MADE TO MANY MISTAKES OR THEY WOULD HAVE BEAT LSU. THEY WERE NOT ON THERE GAME. SO THEY DID NOT DESERVE A WIN. SEC CONFERNCE IS NOT THE BEST!!!! THAT IS JUST A FEW PEOPLES OPINION. THERE ARE GOOD AND BAD IN THEM ALL JUST LIKE DOGS, TRUCKS ETC. HECK IF SEC IS GREAT PLAY THE BIG TEN CONSISTENTLY.

SORRY NOW I AM BABBLING

Alright man, didn't mean to offend you. OSU is good. I do watch em quit a bit. Good Luck to you. I hope they beat Wisconsin.

Well I never said anything about "my team". I did talk about Vanderbilt. Yes Vandy would likely only lose a couple of games with the schedule that Boise has.

Heck Tennessee may even still be undefeated right now with Boise's schedule if they played like they did against LSU or Florida when they played the one decent team on their schedule (VT).

There is that big a difference in schedule.

So using my team, which I haven't until now except to show that they will schedule plenty of away games with big teams. They have Miami, Oregon, UCLA, Ohio State, etc etc etc.

So you are Tennessee. You are a big time college football program. Your football team supports the university, not the other way around. You need so many home games to support said university and make a profit.

You can schedule a home and home with Ohio State or Boise. Which one are you gonna schedule? Do you really think Boise can draw enough to their piss ant stadium to justify the trip there or do you think the draw for Ohio State vs Tennessee would be better financially, recruiting wise and football wise?

Besides, if Tennessee goes to Boise and beats them then all they have done is beat a midmajor team that they were supposed to beat. Big deal.

If they lose, even if it is in overtime by one point, it is embarassing because it's just Boise. It hurts recruiting.

If you lose to Ohio State, even if you get blown out, it's not as bad as losing to Boise by one point in triple overtime. It may actually help your recruiting because you are in a hotbed of talent (Ohio) and they will have bigtime recruits there as opposed to the one step above Div II recruits that Boise will have.

It's a nobrainer.

Again until Boise makes the trips and takes their payday for coming to the big time programs to play and builds their program up to where they can have something to offer they have no business trying to make a home and home deal with a bigtime program.

Big time teams not taking Boise on a home and home isn't ducking them. It's Boise not being worth a home and home and being like the kid hiding behind his momma sayin "it's a good thing she's here or I would whoop you".

If Boise was offering to come visit without a return game and that team had the opening THEN you could say they were ducking them, but not if Boise is asking for a return home game.

If they want to be bigtime then they need to do like Florida State did and play the bigtime programs away from home and build up their program til it is actually worth the big time programs time to come to Boise.

If you call playing 1 middle of the pack team and 11 cupcakes "earning it" then so be it.

That's like a dog winning one club hunt with 4 dogs entered getting a shot at a one night hunt against the UKC world champ the next night after the championship then proclaiming him world champ if he wins.

But hey, he beat him that one night without having to go therough the World Hunt format so he "earned it" right?

LOL.

I really don't consider college football anything close to a competition hunt. I'm watching vandy and georgia go at it right now. Talk about high school leval teams! Turn it on fox rip you can watch two go at it right now. Don't forget boise has to play an un beaten nevada team rip. Have you watched boise play? Ever? They are very good.
