You'll never , ever see a fat decathalete , triathelte or anything else that requires real conditioning ...

God does something to fat and ugly people to trick them into not being able to see themselves like others do .. it keeps them from committing suicide and helps them find mates.

You are a narrow minded prick. Last time I checked God loved all people, and not just the "pretty people" like yourself. No you may not see a fat guy doing vigorus training, but you know what? This is America where people are free to make their own decisions and choices and shouldn't be judged by some prick like yourself. My judge will judge us all one day, and you know what? I bet he will see me the same as he does you. He won't see a fat guy and a "pretty guy". We will be judged equally the same just like everybody else. So what some people are a little over weight, some people are to skinny, some people are white, some people are black, some people are red, but you know what? Who cares.....if you cut a fat man he bleeds red, if you cut a skinny man he bleeds red, if you cut a white man, black man, or red man. You know what? They all bleed red same as me and you.

LOL, I bet those O-Line men and D -Line in the NFL making millions are laughing all the way to the bank..............ask them about real conditioning during training camp.

EDIT -- dang Rip, you beat me to it on the NFL after I read the rest of the thread.

Justin

All I'm going to say is this.
If someone being fat,or fluffy oe chunky is your pet peeve, you have more problems then you realize or will admit to yourself. Also you looking for the "nice word" to call someone fat sure is different.Since when have you been or tried to be nice?
One more thing,I thought this was a thread for pet peeves,I never realized it was a fat, chunky or fluffy person versus pretty skiiny people subject.
But anyway carry on.

You kiss your mother mouth to mouth ? Not me ...

Rip , I've got a thousand cash says you can't find a fat linebacker that can run through the woods out here for five miles and beat me ... just find one and set it up ...

Two of those three sports require grown men in tight uniforms to roll around with each other ... yuck ..

Posted by on 12-04-2009 04:12 AM:

why in the world would a hunter need to be able to run through the woods for 5 miles? Or run through the woods period? When I cut a dog loose, it is for enjoyment, I doubt anyone enjoys running through the woods at night...I dont need to be able to keep up with my dogs, when they sit down treed, I can build up a fire and drink a cup of coffee, and they will still be there when I get ready to go get them...so what does it matter if a person is overweight, as long as they can enjoy coonhunting?

Posted by on 12-04-2009 04:15 AM:

never mind, I remember what my daddy told me about rollin in the mud with hogs...win or lose, you both get muddy and the hog likes it...

Matt , why not ?

Why drive around and wake up the neigborhood to go to dogs if you can walk .. why walk when you can run ?

Hard times make hard men .. same for dogs .

Competition is tough .. for jobs , for good women , for good dogs .. you name it .

You only get out of life what you put into it ... I work hard and play hard and anything less is not my problem ... but , don't ask anyone with much intelligence to pat you on the back for taking the lazy way in things.

Posted by Justin Smith on 12-04-2009 04:54 AM:

Matt , alot of folks will claim they are in shape ... and honestly think they are ... but , if you walk everywhere instead of run and never push yourself .. then you are lying to yourself .

Look at pics of groups of hunters or cockers from the old days and compare that to now ...

.. it's not my opinion , obesity and health problems are a major issue in America .. heart disease , diabetes and all that stuff kills a ton of people every year and it's from laziness and easy living.

No State Meets Healthy People 2010 Goals

According to data from the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS), no state met the Healthy People 2010 objective of 15 percent, and 30 states were 10 or more percentage points away from the objective. The Healthy People 2010 (HP2010) national health objectives include one to reduce the proportion of adults who are obese to 15 percent.

These latest figures from the CDC demonstrate that obesity continues to be a significant public health problem. The Healthy People 2010 (HP2010) national health objectives include one to reduce the proportion of adults who are obese to 15% (objective 19-2) (1). Obesity is defined as a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or above. BMI is calculated using height and weight. For example, a 5-foot, 9-inch adult who weighs 203 pounds would have a BMI of 30, thus putting this person into the obese category.

This analysis estimated the 2007 obesity prevalence among adults, by state, from self-reported weight and height data from the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS). No state met the Healthy People 2010 objective of 15% and 30 states were 10 or more percentage points away from the objective. State-specific obesity prevalence ranged from 18.7% to 32.0%.

Among 2007 BRFSS respondents:

25.6% were obese.
26.4% of men and 24.8% of women were obese.
The obesity prevalence ranged from 19.1% for men and women aged 18--29 years to 31.7% and 30.2%, respectively, for men and women aged 50--59 years.
By race/ethnicity and sex the obesity prevalence was highest for non-Hispanic black women (39.0%) followed by non-Hispanic black men (32.1%).
The obesity prevalence was higher in the South (27.3%) and Midwest (26.5%) and lower in the Northeast (24.4%) and West (23.1%).
CDC conducts obesity prevention programs and activities in many different settings and with a wide range of partners, including state and local health and education departments and communities across the country. For example, as part of CDC’s Nutrition and Physical Activity Program to Prevent Obesity and Other Chronic Diseases, the Washington State implemented a community intervention that promotes environmental and policy changes to help encourage healthful nutrition and physical activity behavior. Changes include widening sidewalks, connecting systems of paths for pedestrians and cyclists in a community, and creating community gardens.

CDC also works with employers and work-site health experts to translate evidence-based recommendations from the Task Force on Community Preventive Services (2) on work-site interventions for preventing obesity into business practice. One product from this collaboration will include a return on investment cost calculator to assist businesses in making the case for initiation and maintenance of wellness programs, especially those that promote weight management. In addition, an interactive website will provide guidance for the creation, expansion or customization of work-site obesity programs. These tools and products will enable employers to more easily implement the evidenced-based recommendations.

this is getting old

this was a intresting thread but know has turn into nearly 5 pages of pure B.S. I dread the i day i draw you in a hunt! not because i am fluffy or you are pretty, it is because people like yourself have absolutely no respect for anyone but themselves! there is nothing finer than going to a hunt and drawing 4 GROWN GENTLEMEN that have 4 NICE DOGS! win or lose it doesnt matter! running or walking to the tree doesnt matter its the passion and respect of the sport that matter.
