She got im striking off the truck and work them colder tracks out. He's a good hound tree's his dang head off! I mean lays em down! I've heard alot about you, meghan, danny, and gauge ....Here's a pic of Belle and Crown on the tree together in Va.

Thanks
eric I hope to breed with gauge sometime down the road he seems like the real deal....Yes as bad as i hate to say it the walker is a tree dog. you have no problem hearing his how every many barks he puts out in a minute. But that old blue dog holds her ground for sure! She's deff a pup trainer Eric if you ever find time to come down and hunt I'd be glad to show you around the mountains down here. Anytime! just let me or cameron know ahead of time to plan. Plenty of coon to run here. These old big mountains coons are a different breed than up there!

Thanks for the invite. We definately need to make some time to grt down there and check on them mountain coons with you guys! Our snow is melting off pretty good now so next time I get piled in with that stuff (wich im sure will be soon around here ) maybe Megan and I will try to load up and head that way.
Do you know when she is due to come in heat?
Big $$ blues
I like Hemi alot,I like Gauge alot I feel real fortunate to have both hounds and more importantly the friends I have made to help the cause. I am hopeful that by combining the two and getting them in the right hands we will have some nice hounds to hit the hunts with.
If I could only have 1 it would be Gauge simply because of the obvious benefits of having a male. In a competition hunt id take my chances with either one of them!!

I heard you bought snooter? I had a male I called Cowboy pictured in last years BBCHA Bluebook out of her and guage that is top knotch. Chuck coates has a female out of snooters last litter that is 8 months now and at 6 months was treeing her own coon and split treeing holding pressure while running her with the old dogs. She is a super nice pup. As for guage he was an outstanding athlete even as a pup. And he comes from a line out outstanding dogs as well. I got a female here out of a sister to guages mother that I love to death who is a hell of an athlete and can reproduce as well. Good luck, though with dogs like Gauge, Hemi & Snooter luck really has nothing to do with it. They just have what it takes to kick but in any competition under any conditions.
Thank You for the kind words I love my Snooter/Gauge pup Stone who is pictured in this post back a ways.He is the reason I bought Gauge and Snooter!
Where is that Cowboy dog now? Stone will be a nt ch soon and i am looking for another gauge pup for the hunts!! If Danny hasn't got his Betty pups finished i may try to get one up here for night hunts. Any info is appreciated.

Dennis,
She will get them little legs through the country fer sure.
Fortunatly things were all good but it very well could have been the end of the Hemi story last week! Erik was hunting her and coon were not moving she got deep and found a coon around a mans garage and ended up treeing him on the side of the garage where he got into the rafters. The man was home and out there when Erik arrived and actually said to shoot the coon but it would have damaged the building. Turns out this coon had been robbing his garbage!!!
JV knows alot about who would whip who for never having been to the woods with any of the dogs he was mentioning. O well each to thier own!!!
I have found her two and three miles away under a coon. She normally doens't get hooked that deep alone but she has before.

quote:I doubt you know for sure about you beating them either my guess Hemi has hunted more ruff country than Gauge and more than like be harder to handle in mountain country. No I am not saying Gauge could not tree a coon there but he might find it a lttle harder . One would think you Gauge might beat these dogs in the mountains but not for sure he can . You no doubt have bought two hounds with good winning records in the nite hunts and unless something happens to Gauge he should reproduce equal to his anscesors Hammer, Jet, S.R , Uchtman. All the work has been done to produce a dog of Gauge's character and the Hemi dog sure has some fine ones in her bloodline so just maybe you will get some extra ordinarypups from these two and if not maybe they will not fall below Hemi's and Gauges ability. Maybe you can be a first to have a 40 % reproducing percentages out of a breed ..Hopefully you can make history........BLUETICK HISTORY

Well Hemi beat a bunch of the best when she picked up $25K at the memorial hunt.
Gauge has drawn most of the big name walkers of today and has his share of cast wins in the pro hunts etc.
They are both nice hounds I can not wait to mix up the genes and see what happens hopefully it will be the right blend but only time will tell if I can keep them alive till it happens I will be very relieved!!!
Lil Hemi has a busy schedule coming up we will know more about about this then. When she is laid up w/pups gauge will hit a few of the Pro hunts. Gauge's offsping are coming to age now and they will talk much better than I can on here.
The nonsence that is put on here is truly trivial. Let a few dogs start showing up with high placings in the world hunts, win the national, fall round-up or taking names in major PKC hunts. That talk won't fall on deaf ears.
