Bargs Red Cream Soda!!!!!!! nothing better!
I was introduced to Big Red when on a cast in North Vernon, In. a few years ago by a local hunter...It was absolutely great...We cannot get that up here..My favorite soda is birch beer, cream soda and root beer all bottled by Polar Beverages, Worcester,Ma.

Not much of a soda drinker these days, I like A&W root beer and Dr Pepper. I remeber when I was a kid growing up while my Grandpa farmed the bottoms of Mud Creek (hence the name), we would put small bottles of Coke in the cold running water of the creek man that was the best!

the best sody pop I ever drunk was probally back in the late sixties we were visting our cousins in Amity, Ark. and at least 100 degrees outside and we stopped at a little gas station and got a pop out of an old drink box setting outside. I got a Frosty brand root beer it had a picture of Santy Claus on it. It was so cold it was almost froze. I was only about six or seven at the time and pop was treat anytime but that was the best ever. I think this was the same trip where I got my first hound pup. Any old timers on here from the Amity, Ark area?

Well if you ever go to the Island Nations have a "Ting" Good Stuff
Ting, made from Jamaican grapefruit with no preservatives is the ultimate thirst quencher. It is a lightly carbonated citrus.

Back in the 80's and early 90's, I used to get something called Apple Beer at the grocery store. No alcohol - kind of like a carbonated apple cider but with a head on it like a beer. Not as heavy as a cider, either. That was some good stuff. The one store in my town that sold it went out of business and I haven't been able to find it anywhere else.
I second the Sun Drop. Around here we add Jim Beam and call it a Sun Beam. <G>
Annie
It's not a "soda" but my favorite is decaf sweet tea in a big ole mason jar with lots of ice. mmmmmm!!

alot of these i've never even heard of before
nothing beats a Pepsi in a glass bottle, but since they've switched to cans & plastic bottles here my fav would have to be Mt. Dew or A&W Root Beer.

My wifes grandpa worked for Coke in the bottling plant and he said the best pop is to grab a bottle off the line right before it got to the capper. This was back in glass bottle days.

nehi peach in a glass bottle
To me the best sodas I can remember were well before coke became new coke, then back to original coke which never was quite the same no matter what they say. Go to an old country store, drop in 25 cents, pull open that tall skinny door, and pull like heck to get out that danged 8oz bottle of coca cola. Slide it under the bottle opener and PFFT. Sit back and just enjoy. Werent nothing like lunch break in the backer fields, loading up on the back of the pickup, head down to the store, drop a quarter for a coke, 2 dimes for a bag of chips, and 50 cents for a bologna and cheese sammich, and listen to all the ol farts tell who had the better looking crop, who caught the biggest fish, killed the biggest and/or the most deer, who had the best hounds in the county, or whatever tall tale they could come up with on a given day and even that changed from day to day. I have always said that I was born about 25 years too late. It is amazing how times have changed and things I got to experience my son will never get to.
Anyways a ice cold ski is hard to beat too and it is amazing that once you get out of this general area and ask for a ski the wierd looks that folks give you so I would imagine that would be the case with some of you other guys local beverages too.

Small bottle coke still is.
When I was about 7, it took me all summer to figure out that if I had a coke along with a dime bag of boiled peanuts I'd get a headache that would probably kill me today. But I could pour in a pack of roasted peanuts and nothin could be finer.
Nehi Peach is about as good as it gets... IMO.
