Best I've fed in a long time.

I like good but cheap.

Trying a new kind now. Know alot of guys who feed it that hunt hard and love it, and it is 15.00 per bag. save me 8.00 a bag and the dogs do good you bet.

This is what I feed (the dark blue bag). My dogs look good, and seem to have plenty of energy. Not an excessive amount of stool either. Which is a bonus for me. LOL

I tried to feed black gold, but my dogs absolutely refused to eat the stuff. I even tried to mix it in with other feeds to get rid of the bag and the dogs would just eat around it.

tickingtimebomb sorry man tried everything possible to figure out how to get u some. we dont have dealers that far out. wish i could you would really like it got most of the guys here using the complete sport a 24/20 also and its 15.49 a bag very good feed. having a truckload sale here in ga could get u some for 13.99 if u buy 10 or more and the advanced for 16.99 with 10 or more regular price on advanced is 18.49 good deal !

Wish I could make it I would see what we could do on a 2 or 3 pallet deal. I would bring truck trailer and dogs ga is fun to hunt.

But that is one heck of a road trip for dog food.

Got some nice tarps to go around the feed to keep it safe. I found some heavy canvas tarps off craigslist that has a liner in between the two canvas pieces. Literatly no water gets threw this stuff.

I wish I have the facility to set up a dog supply here. I would really enjoy it. The only problem is it cost so much to get started.

Building, hardware, ect.

What about The Battle are you going to be heading that way? I looked up winter classic and dont know if I will have the $$$ to head that far.

I am thinkin the battle would prolly be the next big one I attend. I know its a heck of a drive for you. But winter classic is a heck of a drive for me.

Been following this thread, always looking for a better dog food at a better price. Just went to your website to look at ingredients...etc. Found out that these feeds are in 40 lb bags. So, your active dog is a 26-18 at $20.99 for 40 lb bag, which if you were buying it in a 50 lb bag would total out at $26. Your Sport Dog is a 22-12 at $18.99 for a 40 lb bag, which if you were buying a 50 lb bag would cost you around $23. Im sure it is great feed, just a little price heavy for me and my pocketbook. I am currently paying $18.50 for 26-18, 50lb meat base, no soy, Omega 3 and 6.

I guess that depends where you buy your feed.

When I was feeding Large Breed Sportmix, the place gave me a $1.00 off a bag when buying 500lbs - 10 bags X 50lbs = 500lbs

Now where I buy Southern States Advanced Active, I get a $1.50 off each bag if I buy at least 500lbs - 13 bags x 40lbs = 520lbs.

I came out saving 30 cents and gaining 20lbs when I switched over.............even buying an additional 3 extra bags.

So cost wise for me, it was the same with an extra 20lbs to boot.

I'm an advocate for feeding puppies something like purina while they're young, and then switching to a performance blend when they're older.

I've got a dog now that was fed Purina One - Large Breed Puppy Formula, and then I switched her over to Black Gold (black bag)...

She's a big, solid muscle, strong hound at a year a half.

I think whatever works for your dog is what one should feed them. These Purina feeds are probably some of the best... But I don't know for the price if I could afford it. For me (and my hound) the Black Gold works really well...

I got a buddy now that can't keep weight on a 6 month old pup (feeding him Diamond)... I personally think that switching the pup to a puppy formula would benefit the youg dog in the long run...

Just my two cents...

We agree with Purina ProPlan being best. We had a dog get Rickets( mineral deficiencies) from eating Puppy Chow. So we switched to ProPlan. The dogs like it, and it builds good musle tone instead of putting on fat. We feed the puppies ProPlan Large Breed Puppy and the adults get the ProPlan with shredded chicken. Chicken is the main ingredients in both, not cornmeal. It is costly, but you feed less. The dogs don't waste it. So, it all comes out in the wash, which means you hose out less in the kennels. I recommend all you folks that feed Purina sign up on their site. They offer coupons if you cash in your weight circles. Amy

I feed Hi-Standard and found that it is the best dog food I have ever fed. I use to feed Iam's Science diet, Diamond but nothing holds up to Hi-Standard.

HA HA have tried several and the pride is by far the best. Heck with paying 28 to 35 bucks a bag. that's flat out ridiculous.

I have been blessed with a large supply of Free Raw Meat .. So I have been reading the Guide lines for feeding a Raw Diet. And I have desided to go with a 50%/50% mixture of Raw and Kenny-O-Feeds..

Before I started Feeding the Raw I had been Feeding 50#s per day in 26/18 Dry Feed .. Now I'am down to 30#s in a Combo of Raw/Dry

i like black gold very much but in my part of virginia i cant get it anymore,not sure whats going on with them but they have ticked off all the distributers near me and i refuse to drive 50 miles or better to buy dog food so i switched to kenny-o and like it just as much as black gold and its cheaper and just as good.
