I've been blessed with being able to know Alford Dothager ( the man who started the Bonjo blood line) and Bill Dothager who was able to hunt with him.

It would be nice to meet any or all of these great houndsman. It would even be better to see there great dogs work. BUT IF I GOT MY WISH. I would get to go to the woods with them when they were working pups. Learn more less words needed. People like this get tired of telling the same thing to a million people (even if they are nice enough to do it) BUT WATCHING THEM WORK THERE PUPS. PRICELESS

I have been blessed to have met several high profile houndsmen in my tenure.

Kelly Stagner
Bud Keller
Mac McCallister
Jess Dickerson
Waren Hausler
John Wick
Russ Meyers
Dick Brothers
Larry Wilcox
Jim Ridge
Ferrari
O L Wagner
Gayle Flowers
Blaze Bauer
Bill Schenker

Im sure there are several that I am missing at the moment.

The two that left me with the biggest impression, other than Bud Keller, were Eldon Prettyman and Darrol Burrows. Eldon has started more outstanding dogs than anyone I know, and Darrols Grand Lake strain of English is a model for what a hound is supposed to look, sound, and hunt like. Both these men were gracious winners as well as losers, and always found a way to compliment the other hounds that were running agianst theres.

My thread begin with who i would like to meat but the one great hunter and breeder of coon hounds that reproduces coon hounds is Mike Dohoney.
I don't care how hard you try you will never get him to say nothing bad about another mans stud dog.He is a true breeder of coon dogs and one of the 1st breeders to really put the tree in the treeing walker coon hounds.

In all my years iv never heard anything Negitive about Him or His Hounds, there are few what i would call Breeders and promotors in the sport today, but i can Honistly say Mr Mike has stayed with his Line of hounds all the way. The Ringo Dog Catillac & Star and all the other where great hounds. And all had walker Red Heads

The first time I've ever seen this on here & I alway's wondered why? A true breeder's deffinition is only as good as the puppy's they watch develop & utilizing the knowledge learned.

My thought's to a teeee....

All joking aside... I really like that picture. Whoever painted it, is a good artist.

duke proulx

he seems to have a winner in his kennel.back in the late 80's he was running the purina race . he was at the iowa gov cup found the other guys coon at the last tree that cost him the cast win.I've got a lot of respect for a guy that would do that.

Earnest Lee

Had the chance to listen to both Clell and Dale Lee at BBCHA Fall round-ups in the past.
I believe that Earnest was the best breeder and manager of the brothers--- sure would like to have picked his thoughts!

Rex Moyle and Bill Green could have shared some interesting thoughts.
