I remember a lot of democrats voting for us to go into Iraq. Was it right ? who knows. But to turn tail and run will make the terrorists stonger and us weaker than any gas high prices will.

I dont know what the economy is doing in your area, but if you move down here you can work all you want to, the economy is strong. The only ones who aren't working dont want too.............

See its the same thing over and over. Dem's vs. Rep's. When are we gonna discuss George Bush?

TB. you have access to all the info just like the rest of us. Here are a few links but I am not gonna post every single link. Do some research and learn something.

JW I am not here to shut anyone up. If someone wants to jaw politics lets get it on.

One thing my Dad taught us is if YOU screw something *up*, you accept responsibility for your mistakes and do the right thing to fix it. Bush has no plan for anything. No economic plan, no healthcare plan, no exit plan for iraq, no plan to get this country moving again. Its as if we will wait and see what happens tomorrow. He does'nt reconize a problem and find a solution to head it off, he reacts to a problem. If that makes sense. Hard to descibe with words with I mean.

Gas Prices

In my opinion the price increase in crude has not increased percentagely as much as the net cost of gasoline. This will show that the increased percentage of retail gas prices has been caused by refinery profits as shown by the increased profits of the major oil companies.

Our small oil and gas royalities that we receive here in 'Oil Rich" Texas have not caused our checks to increase as much as our credit card bills have for gasoline purchases.

This is just another example of "The Golden Rule", "The Man With the Gold Will Always Rule".

The only consolation that I can offer myself to justify the exorbinate prices we are paying for gasoline is the thought that, " would I like to pull my 5,000 # truck and trailer down the highway with a rope for 12 miles or pay $3.00 for a gallon of gas.

Take a deep breath.......

Most rational people have figured out we are in deep dodo, others continue to quote liars believing if they say it enough we will somehow buy into the steaming pile they are trying to sell.
I don't think impeaching Bush is enough, I think Bush , Cheney and Rumsfield should hang for treason. This war was about revenge for Bush, and Cheney was p/o because he didn't get to march into Baghdad in the first Gulf war.
The evidence is all around folks and it isn't about Dem's or Rep's, it's about globalism. American infastructure is for sale to the highest bidder and the Dubai ports deal was just the tip of the iceburg. We have a totally corrupt government in Washington, both the house and Senate, both parties. They spend all their time raising money to get reelected and just in case people catch on to them they redraw their districts to eliminate challengers.
The worst part about it is they have us arguing with each other instead of holding them accountable for their crimes.
It is pure evil that starts a war under false pretenses that kills many thousands of innocent people and costs many billions of dollars that could be going for health care or social security.
Go to google and search Chuck Baldwin or Alex Jones, hopefully we still have time to save our country.
It is not about Rep or Dem, wake up, that is the shell game they play to keep you distracted while their pilfering the national treasure.
Pray for your country people and quit calling each other names because we need to pull together fast.
.

Hiphop is you think real estate is up, you need to re-look at the figures.

Home Sales Decline Again

Sales of existing homes fell just over one percent compared to last month, dropping from an annual sales pace of 6.75 million homes to 6.67 million, a total decline of 1.19%. Compared to last year, though? Sales are down 6.58%. Figures are for May closings. June figures will be released near the end of July.

Instead of bursting like a balloon, home sales are slowing gradually. Most experts feel the decline is due to gradually increasing mortgage rates. There is some anticipation that mortgage rates may increase more rapidly in July, so housing sales may continue to decline.

Inventory Trend is "UP"
Another factor affecting sales is that inventory levels are at record levels. Basically, what this means is that the ratio of sellers than buyers is growing.

At the current sales pace, it would take six and a half months to sell all homes currently on the market. As a "snapshot" - there were 3.6 million homes up for sale at the end of May. A year ago, 2.5 million homes were up for sale.

I pretty much agree with this. I know several contractors that have STOPPED building because they are sitting on 20 to 50 houses that no one is even looking at. If you can't sell em, you can't build em.

two more years and we will be looking back at 4.00 a gallon thinking if only it would go back to this.

Posted by rrs on 08-11-2008 11:03 PM:

bush did have a plan and he executed it well-make the wealthy richer at the expense of the rest-lo.... history will have to judge his yrs. in office, if he does it, the best president ever, never admits a mistake, only blames others... we are negotiating to leave iraq, but not a time line, rather a time horizon... congress has been a terrible failure- no matter which party is in power, do the bidding of vested interests at the expense of the people... real leadership is needed that can-will bridge partisanship and do what is best for the nation and all of its citizens... don't see that at the moment in either party or candidate...

Posted by CooperCreek on 08-11-2008 11:06 PM:

Hopefully Skinner will remember to "properly inflate his tires" before he goes to cast his vote for Obama.

RRS, you need to borrow my tire gauge too?

Posted by rrs on 08-11-2008 11:20 PM:

cooper,
glad that you are doing well, but reality is that economy not doing well overall, mortage crisis, lack of energy policy, a misguided war in iraq, etc. etc... my fear is that we have left the world worse than we found it for future generations, not just gw, but our elected leadership in general.... don't think having a job makes one rich, but currently in some areas might be... not complaining about my personal situation, but looking at the big picture... have been very fortunate-blessed, very thankful to live in this great country, want others to have the same opportunities that I have had...
congratulations on your educational achievements, respect your efforts.... have spent quite a few yrs. getting an education and working with others to do the same...

Posted by rrs on 08-11-2008 11:25 PM:

just checked tires and inflated on saturday.... would like to have a digital gauge though, think senator obama has ever checked his-lo... not sure he has a vehicle...

Posted by CooperCreek on 08-11-2008 11:31 PM:

I personally think the government should provide a tire gauge to every citizen.

Maybe instead of a SS Card they can send us a tire gauge with our SSN on it? lol

But tax us for it, lord knows it'd cost the government $30 a piece to send us all tire gauges.

Posted by rrs on 08-11-2008 11:43 PM:

might not need a gauge for future generations if no social security funds left, guess could measure what won't be able to collect.... $30 would be a pretty reasonable cost for a gov't. issued-purchased gauge-lo...

Here is a few facts for you Skinner.

FIRST, The President does nothing to control the rise or fall of gas prices. Borrow your kids or grandkids economics book and read it.

Obama said gas prices are NOT too high. They just rose too fast.

The Democrats in Washington REFUSE to do anything about the current gas prices and even said they would not allow anymore drilling to help lower gas prices, even if they reached $10 a gallon.

Under Obama's energy plan we will be PAYING MORE for basic energy requirements if he is elected. Not to mention gas prices will surely rise more due to him taxing oil companies more than they already are being taxed.

Suck it up,educate yourself and put some more air in your tires.

I understand the fuel prices are aggravating, but spewing ignorance and blame on those that dont deserve it wont help.
