I used Frontline Plus before I started using this.............I get the same amount of ticks as I did with Frontline Plus (very few). I live and hunt in Alabama and fleas and ticks are almost a year round problem.

Wayne go to the feed store and look for a tick collar that contains amitraz as the active ingredient. this stuff will kill ticks guarenteed.

Hey Chadf. So Buckshot, you think this stuff is pretty effective on ticks also? There are certain times of the year here when my dogs come home just loaded with deer ticks. I've been using Bio Spot and it works but I saw a thread the other day on here where it may be dangerous to use. I was considering going to Frontline. What say you? Thanks.

I have used Frontline Plus for years..............I saw no difference in ticks this past summer using this compared to using Frontline Plus in past years hunting spots that are known for ticks. I still picked some up during the bad season. But not covered up with them had I not been using anything at all. I personally haven't found anything that will keep the ticks off 100%.

I've tried a few of the different tick collars...some from stores and some from Vet and didn't see any difference.

I would use the Frontline Plus over the Bio-Spot.

Saw it last night at Menard's in Hutchinson for $15.89 I believe. I could treat my one hound for how many years on a quart of that. 62lb hound at 15ml once a month through our six of seven months of warmer weather it would sure last us a long time. Thanks for the tip FullCry. That Imidacloprid sounds like good stuff. How long has Admire been out and has anyone used it on one hound for its entire life....in other words is it safe to use year after year with no long term problems to the dog or owner?

sure hope this stuff is all you guys make it out to be.. fleas are just getting started here.. i just put it on my black and tans, bird dog, wifes 10 beagles and 2 beagle pups... in a couple of days i will know!!

its only been a couple of days but i see NO scratching going on and i have seen NO fleas in two days.. oh, and not even the pups showed any signs from putting this on them..

I just bought some last week and put it on my dogs, and no more fleas. works great.

We treated our dogs yesterday. We had a rampant flea infestation, but we don't today!! This stuff really works! Thank you for the tip.

I have 2 full grown dogs and 2 pups, one pup is 8 months old the other is 3 months.
I use the Bayer tree & shrub stuff on all but the young pup and it does it's job. I take the 2 pups out, one treated and one not, and the untreated pup is covered up with ticks and the other is not.
It makes me think this stuff works on the ticks too.
I think I'm going to treat the little one with a smaller dose.
and see if the ticks stay off him too.

THIs stuff is amazing. i have been using it for 3 months now and havnt found a tick of flea on my dogs at alll!! no side effects either. i have a couple bottles (just in case the company gets wind and takes it off the market)

better bring some of that miracle treatment over this way, poor old guys have a hard time coming up with the $$$ to buy a bottle, no fun to be old and poor...

or young and poor..lol

I wander exactly how many people use this stuff now, with everyone telling there friends, and so on and so forth. Im glad i've helped people out with their flea problems.

I wonder how hard it is to over dose a dog with this? I know several years ago alot of guys were using spot on not bio spot. Spot on was topical and was for I think lice. If given to much over some years it was affecting the hounds organs.
Im sure this stuff is working but I'd be very carefull! Just like any drugs it will be deadly if used wrong.
Im for anything that works and not expensive! Just needs to be safe!

I have been using it some. have had good results. I only use it when I see fleas. I don't like to over use anything.
On nursing or pregnant dogs, I still use regular advantage. Just don't want to take any chances.
But it does work.

BTT- it is still doing great around here, nothing wrong with anyones dogs.

I've been using it now for three years or so and have never seen any dogs hurt by it. It is the same chemical that the vet will sell you as trade name advantage or what farmers use called admire. Some of my hunting buddys have cut the dosage back to like seven ml. on a fifty lb hound and are having the same results. They also only put it on their hounds like twice in the hot months but if they see fleas they treat them all. I have put it on mine once or twice so far this year and will not untill i see a few fleas around here. Now if i were going to any kind of big hunt where there would probably be fleas due to a large amount of hounds I would put it on my dogs a few days before going. This stuff is the real deal on fleas and there are a few around here that i have tried to convince about it but they are still spraying, dipping dogs, putting on bio-spot, you name it still fighting fleas and all they need is eighteen bucks and life would be so much better. I don't come on this board very often anymore and was suprised to see this thread still going. Many,many houndsman are living a little easier due to this chemical and we all need to keep spreading the word about it. Take care all, FullCry

I found it in 3 stores today. Earl Mays, Menards. and Wall Mart. Earl May was a lot higher, but gave a rebate slip to send in. I bought 2 bottles just like you said. I found the same chmical at a higher percentage in a small container (about the size of a huge magic marker) to use to kill roches. It was in a true valu hardware store. Thanks for all your help. I had just bought about $5oo.00 worth of Front Line plus just befor our tick season started. Thanks again Larry
