Really appreciate the compliments. Cy has a LONG ways to go before he makes the cut here , but I sure like his Looks, mouth, and definately his tree style. Hopefully I can bring him along at the right pace and allow him to make a coondog. One thing is for sure, when he is ready he will get the shoe leather.

Myers , sounds like ole kink is coming along really good!!

That Andy is a good looking sucker. I have a full brother to him that is 6 months old now. I sure hope he fills out thick like him and blaze. I know he has a horn on him for sure.

HUNT

I didn't get to go last night, but Drake and my nephew took Rock and Hooker. Hooker is a mate to CY (JOBEXMAGIC). She is going with the dogs but I haven't hunted her much. Drake said Rock struck a bad track and got deep and got treed right. They got in there and it was a huge den tree. They called it a night.
ROCK is a 5 yr old hound that needs no help to tree a coon.turned 5 on 4-11-14
He will get deep if coons aren't stirring.
Rock will go hunting alone.
He will tree a possum every once in awhile. He has a good mouth and is a hard chop mouth tree dog. He will tree on all 4 feet for the most part.
I am going to sell Rock as I have more to hunt than I can do justice. I will sell him under the tree. Call me if interested in a coon treeing male.

HUNT

Went for a little while last night. First drop I cut Andy and Cy together. Andy struck in at 200yds and trailed about 200 more and loaded up treed. He treed good and we got to the tree and Cy had went on up the creek. Andy was treed up a bay tree that ran into a larger bay tree. We looked best we could but didn't find a coon. It was a woolly tree and could have been there but I didn't see him. I cut Andy on up creek towards Cy and they got together. Cy came out on a powerline and I caught him. Andy had done crossed and I drove on around and caught him coming up the creek. Next drop I cut Cotton and Cy loose. They split up and Cotton went one way and Cy the other. Cy located and went on a tree about 150 yds up the branch but didn't stick with it. Cotton opened down the branch and started working a bad track. She soon worked up in the hills and located and treed. She didn't sound right but we headed to her. We got to her and she was half hearted treeing on a den. We got her and called it a night. Not the best night but I sure have had worse.

HUNT

Hunted last night in the rain. First and only drop, I cut Andy and Rock together. It was spitting a little rain but not too bad. Andy struck a sorry track and started working it up the bottom. Rock was with him but wasn't opening. Andy moved the track good and soon was about 600 yds in the bottom. He loaded up and blowed the top out. I drove around and walked about 250 yds in to him. He was treed in a poplar out in an old slew run. He missed the coon, it was slick. I gave him my disapproval and started listening for Rock. He was about 200 yds on down the bottom. He worked a long ways down the bottom and the rain was getting harder. I lost him a couple times in the hard rain but soon picked him up on my side of the creek. I don't really know what happened to his track but it fell apart. It rained hard for a while so it may have rained out his track. He skipped the country on me and I had to drive around. I got within 200 yds and called him out. Got home at 12:30 and ain't even treed a dang coon!! Well I will be getting after them again tonight!! Y'all Keep'em Lookin' Up!! Darren

Hunt

Had a good hunt and some great fellowship last night. Went over to Steele and hunted with terry Tibbs and Mickey Gilmore. Mickey brought judge and striker and I had Cotton and BB. We cut Judge and BB first. They struck and made short order of treeing the first coon. He was up a small tree and we seen him. Judge is a nice tree dog for sure. We cut them on in bottom and BB wanted to go back but Judge struck deeper. BB went to him and they treed about 400 yes deep big oak tree and we couldn't see him. We cut Cotton and Stroker and Terry's fly gyp. Cotton and Stroker blowed up on a tree but I think they missed him. There was a pine tree but I didn't see anything. Cotton is usually very accurate but last night wasn't her best night. Fly struck deep and Stroker went to her. Cotton went the opposite detection and got treed. She was one tree over from where BB and Judge treed the first coon and had a coon. Prolly the same coon. Fly and Stroker treed and I cut cotton to them. It was a den. Stroker treed again and Cotton was just hangin around non committed and she got a boot. Couldn't see strikers coon and Cotton treed about 175 yes on across bottom. Couldn't find her coon. Leaves are on pretty good. Fly ended up treed on another den deep and we called it a night. It was good to meet Mickey. He is a stand up guy and is packing a nice hound. Y'all keep em Lookin up. Hope you made it home ok. I had a great time it was nice to finally get to meet ya'll. wish we didn't live so far apart it would be nice to get to hunt together more. and let me tell everybody if you have not every heard Cotton locate a tree it would be worth your time to go hunt with her and hear it, she sounds wicked. She puts her whole heart into it I promise.(LIKE IT) hope we can do it again before long.

Made it home ok. Long drive at 1:30 am. Longer drive for you man. Thanks for the comments about Cotton. It wasn't her best night but she has a home here. Look forward to see what Judge and BB will produce. Terry and myself have had a couple of debates on what to breed to her. We both agree on Judge. He has the breeding that Terry is looking for and he operated like I like one to operate. I will be in touch. Darren

Keep your head down up there with this weather. Not the night to see if you can tree one in a storm. You got a whole kennel full of good looking hounds good luck with them. I fooled around and bought a English hound that I like pretty good.

HUNT

Well I reckon I wimped out last night with the Tornados in the area. Hopefully the weather will clear up tonight and I can hit the woods. Too many hounds standing in the pen to sit at home!! I sent my young Sadie Mae female to Decatur,AL to Keith Sparks. He wanted something to fool with for a month or so til his pup gets ready. Keith is a good hunter and had a NICE male named Max out of Hornet X Frostbite. I am going to sell Rock. He is a nice coon treeing hound but doesn't fit in my program. Hope all are safe from the storms and suffered no damage.

In the background is NtCh PR Hollis' Southern Blue Maggie.
Maggie was by GrNtCh PR Crosby's Smokin Joe and PR Crosby's Rockin Roxie. Maggie was a hard tree dog as well and an all around nice gyp.

Finally got out last night for a little while. Glad the storms are gone.
First drop I cut Cotton and Cy loose up a little creek bottom. Cotton went about 175yds up the bottom and opened about 3 times and hushed. About 5 minutes passed and she just fell treed. Drake and myself made it in to her and Cy was 150 yds past her up the bottom. Cotton was on a small, tall tree in a slash. I found her coon but he wasn't easy to see. Next drop I cut Andy and our female out of JOBE X MAGIC that Drake named last night. I was calling her Hook but Drake wanted to name her PR Southern Blue Hardwood Cricket. We will call her Crick. Hopefully she will tree so many coons in the future, that you will get a CRICK in your neck from lookin up!!LOL
Andy struck a bad track and worked it 400 yds in bottom. Crick got split off from him and ended up coming to us but went off on her own. Andy soon treed and we made our way to him. He was on a small creek and there were several trees bunched together and we couldn't find a coon. We called it a night as it was 11:15 and Drake has school. I went to feed and put up the dogs and got in at 12:00. I got my first shoulderless creature last night, and I'm sure there are many more to come. Y'all Keep'em Lookin' Up!!

KEITH AND I WENT LAST NIGHT THE WIND WAS A HOWLING. THEY MADE A LOOP ABOUT 350 YARDS SOUTH OF US AND THEN CAME BACK ABOUT 400 YARD NORTH OF US AND STRUCK A BAD TRACK WENT ABOUT 700 YARDS DEEP AND MOVED THE TRACK BACK TO 250 YARDS FROM US AND DOLLY LOCATED AND TREED HALF HEARTED THEN SADIE CAME IN AND BACKED HER . THEY TREED UP A MEDUIM SIZE WHITE OAK THAT WENT INTO A LARGER WHITE OAK THAT WAS FULL OF VINES AND POISION OAK. WE LOOKED BUT NEVER FOUND THE MEAT.
