Ron

I know I'm a wuss what can I say. Champ got deap and got his one coon and I figured it was good enough. I had to track him to get close enough to hear him anyway with the wind.

Oh and there was a new CSI on at 9.lol

Kattie getting treed after tracking in a cornfield for over an hour. Jill, Jayce's 10 mo old pup gave up after 45 min. LOL Pepper was still moving his track at an hour and a half, so decided to catch him when he finally came out and headed down a creek line. I think if I would of left him go, he would have sooner or later got treed.

Nice pics Jeff. I brought the camera with me the other night and completely forgot about it. One of these nights I'll remember. Did pepper stick better? Wish I was hunting tonight. Great night for it. Well football is over after tonight so I plan on hitting it hard now.

Ya he's doing better, he's been letting me leash him at the tree. He's finally comming around some. It's nice having Kattie with, because she goes all out at the tree, and that keep's Pepper interested in what's going on. When she's thier he wont leave. So I"LL hunt both together all kill season and single him out next spring. By then he will have had plenty of coon treed.

Hey Corey. The big male treed his first coon lastnite by himself. Coon were thick and he was wanting to check around some but did tree his own. The other 2 broke dogs treed split from him 20 yards away. They all had coon. Good nite till ready to go. The female off Dutch and the male was at our feet and decided to take off. Needless to say we waited and yelled for 3 hours. Nothing. We went back this am early drove the roads talked with farmers and nothing. We didn't have trackers on them. Usually with young pups they follow. They did but right when we were getting loaded they didn't hang around.

So we do have our name tags on the collars. We were hunting around Bobby Smalls inlaws towards the MO line south of Pulaski Iowa. I think we are going to turn loose there again tonite hoping they will hear our dogs tree and come in.

Ending to a good nite turned bad.

We were hunting both. The female is hell on a coon when it hits the ground.

I haven't heard anything yet. All we can do is hope someone calls instead of shooting them.

Im sure we'll go back down there tonite and hunt again. May work.

Corey here is Jessi. Hope she starts treeing soon like her big brother. Man he's stought and like to tree. I think they are around 9 months old. She has been on several coon this season. I started tieing her back lastnite if she's not treeing. When you shoot she goes nuts knowing the coons coming down.

Yes it is. Only gonna get worse. Just have to start hunting closer to home.

Here's a few pictures for ya from tonights hunt. Dutch treed this big ol boar the last drop. He's a big one. I didn't have a scale but I'm guessing 30 plus. He was a little over 50 inches long skinned out. I wish I would of kept the first one he treed. I'd say it wayed 4lbs. Next one was a good sized one and then this ol boy. I'd say he'd been around a while.

Hey Hawk

It was a tough night down here too.

Smoke and I dropped three times. Each time was as tough as the one before. We tapped out around midnite coonless and irritated.

Sanders said he and Chief cold trailed one for over an hour and got it treed on the outside. Called it quits.

All the easy coon are dead and it's not going to get any easier from here on out.

Posted by Hawk32 on 11-16-2007 04:45 PM:

Chris
We sure could use a shot of rain. I sat and watched the dust stir up when champ was chewing on that first coon. We need to get together and hit the woods. Let me know when your not working and i'll head your way. Gonna hit it a little harder tonight.

For some reason last night's the tracking sucked, the treeing sucked, nothing panned out well for some strange reason. Dog's acted like it was the 1st time ever hunting. LOL.
