pups

Aubrey your pups look good. I went out the last couple of nights had two dens. Last night put one in a hole a long the creek and needless to say i went thru the ice and man that water is cold this time of the year was wet up above my knees not a very good feeling. Had to go home and change clothes.

We actually had to counter-balance them with cinder blocks. Those hides are HEAVY!!! What they don't put up with for a picture?!

Well i went out tonight and Chief caught a big coon in the Bad Ax and had a hard time holding on to it. And dumb me left the gun in the truck so the fight was on. I was trying to get ahold of dog/ coon in water up to my knees i had it pinned down for a little bit. But the coon won that one and got under some ice. So it was catch and release. Chief looked really good on that one anyway was very intence about drug me back down in there.

I got wet as well, found a few spots where the snow was waist deep and luckily my frog legs offer insulation and melted the snow. No coon harvested, saw one in a hole with the assistance of my camera though. I was still content with getting an opportunity to go out and hear the dogs work.

In the limited times i've been out recently, none of the coon here want to climb. I figure if anything it's helping Bentley learning to track. Last night he looked good, even went out hunting and didn't come back for about 15 minutes.

Saturday.....

Aubrey and Abram wanted to thank Terry & Matt for a great time on Saturday at the 1st annual Redbone Family Ice Fishing tournament. They had a lot of fun.....strangely though, they didn't bring any fish home???? Heres a few of my favorite pics:

It really was a good time on Saturday...even though we didn't catch any fish! I think I may have had a little too much fun, because this big kid is still really sore! Hopefully next time we'll catch a few fish!
