So far tonight we have had a pretty good night. We took Doc ( Riptide / Dancer ) by himself and it has paid of so far. Going to our first spot we seen a big coon cross the road and it was a good distance from the woods across a very large corn field. By the time we got Doc's tracking collar on and cut him it had a lead and let me tell you it was a chase. Made it too the woods, tapped a couple trees and ended up about 875 yards from where we cut him in some old buildings. Doc gave a couple big old locates, messed around a few minutes and came a different route back too us in short order. Next drop he hit at about 225 yards and made a nice little circle and rolled up with a locate a kid could call and nailed it and had it along a swamp. Keeping him tied and letting him tree for a good while prior to dropping it out. This is what he has been needing, tracks that will run, pretty please tonight so far! Doc will be 10 months old Feb. 2nd, he has made it past the 9 month old thresh hole!!!

Here are a couple pictures of the two males we are keeping out of the Robin and Riptide cross, not the best pictures but will work for now. They are eating dry dog food and moist food as well, eating machines! Corey thought I did name my pick right, Mad Max as he is a little steam winder with a big personality, reminds me of Doc when he was that age. You can take it out of them but it is hard to put it in them! Both pups have real nice heads on them. Pups were born on Christmas Day so they should be something special! LOL!

We finally got our rooms booked for the Bluetick Days on May 18,19 and 20th at Bellevue Michigan and looking forward to it. Not sure yet if we will make the Hunt in Marshall MO in April but would like to make it, but not sure on those dates yet. Never hunted that far north in Michigan so kind a looking forward to doing it! Keep hearing there is good hunting up there and hoping to get to see some of it.

Just got back from Kansas this afternoon. We took Robin back to Roy Clifton and sure did appreciate Roy letting us use Robin for a litter of pups. It is not every day you can find a bitch of her caliber to breed too, tree power. Thanks once again Roy!

Took Jet and Doc tonight and made three dumps and made three trees. First dump Doc struck and Jet put in with him on a hot one and Doc nailed and Jet backed, Doc was a little too quick but could not resist! LOL! Doc was just a little too competitive! Second dump they hit and treed a big old den. Third dump they treed and had the meat. Not bad for the first night out with Jet.

Took a hunt tonight with Doc and Jet. Trying to hunt both separate some and together some. Tracks were hard to come by tonight but we did make three trees. Two dens and one coon the outside. Doc is now 10 months old and is improving all the time. Doc has desire and sure is not afraid to get on the wood, Doc and Jet can make some noise!

Well I took Doc tonight for a few short dumps. 1st dump he hit a track in there about 150 yards checked a few trees and halfway treed walked in and couldn't find anything. 2nd dump cut him loose he hit red hot and went about 240 yards and slammed it and had a big den tree. 3rd dump cut him across a big field so he had to go hunting to get to the woods he got in there hit red hot and exploded on a tree and was tearing it down walked in there and he had the coon so I ended the night on a good note. Each night out Doc keeps getting better and better as we have high hopes for him.

Short video of Doc and Jet treeing last night. Doc is the one circling the tree. Doc has been treeing pretty good for a good while now and is 10 months old, Doc has treed a few by himself and is being singled out by himself about 50% of the time now. Doc is out of Riptide and Dancer.

We took a short hunt after we left the funeral home tonight and we just took Doc. Doc will 11 months old April 2nd. We made three dumps and made two tree, one den and one coon. First track was not hot but he moved it pretty good and took it across a cow pasture and treed a den. Next dump we turned loose in a big slew along the river and Doc hit and treed within a 100 yards, rolled it over quick and did a nice job.

Well I had Corey get the Ranger serviced yesterday and it was needed. Had it gone through and even put in a new back tail light that got knocked out, not sure how that happened. You can not beat the Rangers in my opioion, they take a beating and keep right on ticking. In right at 1 1/2 years have not had one issue with it that I did not cause like a broken tail light!! Not only that but you can put many more miles on a hound that you can walking to every tree especially when you have two bad knees and a little over weight. When hunting becomes a job to me I will let if pass me by.

Here are a few pictures of two males a little over three months out of Riptide and Grand Nite Mad Dog Tree Rockin Robin. Have been messing with them on a few drags and starting to taking a liking to a little action, especially Mad Max, he is a steam winder! The wife misses them as we have them running in a bigger pen to give them plenty of room to stretch their legs. Corn field chases right around the corner with these two!
