HUNT

Made a couple drops last night. First drop I cut Cotton and Cyclone loose. Cotton struck in at about 100yds and worked a track for about 200yds and loaded up treed. She was treed up a small tree but it ran into a large tree. We seen the coon up the large tree. Cy was interested but wasn't a very good track.
Next drop we cut Rickett and Sadie Mae loose. They struck in at about 200yds and worked a track about 6/10's of a mile. Rickett located a couple times but moved on down the bottom. They finally treed right behind some houses and we drove around to get closer. We waded thru those evergreen hedges and finally got to them. They had the coon. We called it a night after that and gone hit it again tonight.

Here is a video of my Cyclone pup. My son took it on his phone the other night and can't get it to send to my phone. You can't see much but you can hear him tree on a drag I made for him.

This is Cotton treed alone the other night.

HUNT

Went by myself last night. First drop I wanted to see how Sadie Mae would operate alone. I cut her at about 8:45. She hunted good and opened on what seemed like a bad track. She worked silent for a long period and located several times but never stuck. I took Rock and a 7 mth old female I call Hardwood Hooker. She is JOBE X MAGIC pup.
Rock left hard and soon struck in at about 500 yds. He worked a track deep and moved it on nearly out of hearing. I looked at the Garmin and he was over a mile away. Sadie came in close and I called her out to me. I drove around and stopped to hear Rock blowing the top out. I drove on around to a powerline and Rock was 500yds from me. I headed out to him up and down that dang powerline. Finally got thru a pine thicket and he was treed on a poplar tree along a small creek where the timber wasn't cut. I soon spotted two coons up the tree and gave ole Rock a good pet on the head. Rock has really improved over the last couple of weeks with some hard hunting. He is a hard going, no reverse type dog and is a good tree dog that will have the coon a high percentage of the time. He is 4 yrs old now and is a pretty solid dog. Got to head over to Arkansas this weekend. Probably leave this afternoon and come home tomorrow. Y'all Keep'em lookin' up!!

Cotton and Cyclone sounding good! Cyclone was really spitting them out. Looks like you might be getting some more rain this morning, it missed us so far. Ready for it to dry out some. Good Hunting!

I'm impressed with what Jobe is throwing. Looks and go power. I bred my Dixie gyp to him but she didn't stick. I have a 7 mth old pup out of Jobe x Magic. He is a good looking sucker too. Magic and Angel are sisters

HUNT

I went by myself last night. First drop I cut Andy ( my new hound) alone down the bottom. He went right by a deer so there was one positive to start the night. Andy went about 200 yds and hit the creek. He opened a few times but never really got anything going. He got about 800 yds and I drove around. He came out on a logging road and I caught him up. I cut him in the hills next alone. He went about 275 yds and fell treed. Treed good on a huge water oak that split 3 ways. I couldn't find a coon but it could have been there. Next drop I cut Cotton, Cy, and Andy in a bottom. Cotton went one way and Andy went the other. Cy started with Andy but was soon headed Cotton's way. Andy struck and Cotton opened deeper. They worked a track down the bottom. Andy was in the creek and Cotton was coming across the bottom to the creek. They got about 800yds and I drove around. Cotton soon loaded up and I headed in down an old road. I got to her an Cy was there too. I got him fired up on the tree and he treed pretty good on it. She had the meat right on the creek. Andy had taken a left hand turn and soon was nearly out of hearing. I finished up at the tree and headed to the truck. I drove around and the closest I could get was over 1000yds. He was treed and I cut out to him.I waded thru cutover and a pine thicket for about 45 minutes but finally made it to him. He is a nice tree dog and treed solid. He was treed up a pine tree and had the meat. The top must have broken out of the pine and that coon fell out right to him. I finally made it out to the truck and called it a night. Andy needs tuned up but I liked what I saw last night. Deep and alone and doesn't pay attention to what nothing else is doing. Good cold nose and can drift and move a bad track. I will be interested to see what he can get done after a month of hard hunting. Here is a video of my Cyclone pup treeing last night.7 months old, I think he might make a tree dog!!
