I hear you. I have owned a couple like that myself. By the time they were four, they developed into very nice hounds. Just give him some time. You will probably be glad you did.

Gunner

Gary, I've been hunting the hair off of him this summer and I actually hate to say it, cause I'm afraid that I might jinx myself, but ole Gunner is the probably one of the better young hounds that I have owned in 20 years.
Here is a couple more pictures of him. Treed in a big den tonight. The wind was blowing so hard that I couldnt hear him until I was directly down wind of him. I decided to call it a night and quit while I was ahead after the first tree, lol.

Thanks

She has sure surprised me. She can finish a drag pretty well. Have had her out a few times and she has opened on a trail and trees a little with old dogs. Just needing to get some fur in her mouth.

BAD NEWS!!!

I had a bit of bad luck tonight. Ole' Gunner took about a 25 foot fall from a Red Oak. The tree was leaning just enough, out over a creek bank, that he somehow managed to get his scrawney little a$$ up it. He fell and I'm pretty sure that he broke his left front leg between his paw and elbow.
I guess that he will be sitting out of the game for a while.
You know the old saying "If it wasn't for bad luck, I would have no luck at all!"

I am sorry to hear that about Gunner. Hopefully, he will recover without any problems.

Here's a video of our two pups off Uchtman's Hickory X Timber Diva at just shy of 5 months old. Nothing like firing them up for hide season, right?

Gary, I figure that he will be alright in a couple months. I could'nt get him to the vets today, so we put a splint on him and hope that it holds until we can get him there Monday morning. I just hate to see him end up crippled. I kinda have high hopes for him.

Coondogs 704, the pups are looking good!

Pictured in the sunlight.
Grandpups of Uchtman's Zeb, Uchtman Albert twice, Rambo 2 twice, great uncle would be Uchtman Logan pretty much all sold, heading to the deep south, just so long as they are not in my hunting territory.

Sire is-GR. Ch. Nt. Ch. Green's Buddy he has a fair amount of Uchtman in him, different line, I know he goes back to Hawk.

Amy has come a long ways in a short time. I have been to the Mississippi Delta and the White River Refuge with her and it has worked wonders. The first and second pics are of her first solo coon, which happened to be split 80 yds from the old dog with a big coon. She is making good progress and I like her. When she gets tuned up its hard to tell if there's another dog in there or not.
