Just got in from a nice short hunt. That is Bobby Carter on the right and Bubba Snider on the left. Bobby is holding Mayflower and Lady (6 Again X Tree Slammin Lady) and Bubba is holding Annie and Jet II. Annie is out of Tony Poole's Ruger. All the rest are Jet bred, have straight tails and no breathing problems that I am aware of. We have had some good times over the years and hope to have many more.

Sammy was dead when I got back sure is hard to lose them but seemed like she really aged after this litter of puppies but treed a coon last week and did it nice!!! will miss that roll up the tree locate and her tree mouth!!

Thank you for all the congratulations on May Flower. I raised a litter with Bobby Carter this year off her and Rejet and it took her awhile to get back right. Do love to hunt these females as much, if not more, than the males. Ed called while I was signing up to a hunt last night. When I hear from Ed at night that means the weather is to bad at his place to hunt. Went to the hunt with the intentions of trying to finish Lady, who has a 1st & a 2nd. Decided to hunt Rejet and that worked out well with him winning Nt Ch with 450 plus by himself on both of them-with long, long walks to each tree. Scott Phillips pointed out that I got the photo labeled wrong-Bobby is on the left in the photo. Scott also says Ch Nt Ch Wild N Blue Hooker is showing good from the breeding to Rejet. Hooker is the same cross as Gr Nt Ch Mann's Wild N Blue Chief. Got a female here from Boomer X Nt Ch Mead's Blue Lady II (6 Again X Tree Slammin Lady) She showed us on Friday night that she can trail one up-will see what she looks like after we knock the pen rust along with a pound or two off her. As Terry would say "She looks great on the plywood right now!"

John sorry for your loss. The longer you stay in this sport the more you realize how time does fly with these dogs. The longest that one has lived for me was 12. When they get to the 8 or 9 years old I no longer take anything for granted. So many things can happen each time we turn one loose-course a mutt can live between two interstates, raise every puppy without deworming or shots, cross the road every day all day long and never get her or a pup ran over. While we plan crosses, drive all over the country, take every precaution and if they conceive we are lucky to raise some of the pups. So hunt them and enjoy them while you got them. Hope all of you are enjoying yours as much as I am these. Just checked the weather report and the predictions are that it will get dark again tonight. The highs are going to be in the lows and the lows are going to be down around Echeconnee Creek, which is where you will find me!

If you do not have these, consider your self lucky. They raise several times a year and go through the woods and swamps like vacuum cleaners. I deal with them just as I do the snakes.

Are they any good BBQed ? Hope we never have to deal with them . Had a good visit with Ed and Terry Sunday . Ed is doing good . Crystal was trying to founder us . I wish there was not a snow storm going on so we could have hunted . Happy holidays to all !!!

Jeff Timms-they stink to high heaven. I am sure some people BBQ them but not me. Dale Parker and Rodney Holland finished Uchtman's Organ Grinder to Dual Grand Champion last night. On Dec. 6 their Lace female made Dual Grand and you can see on here from earlier post where May Flower finished. That makes 3 Bluetick Dual Grands down here. What makes it cool? The leaves are off the trees! Dale brought this fact to my attention this morning. The tri colored hypocrites are being exposed for what they do best-slick tree. Big time congratulations to everyone connected to these two and who helped make this happen. Last but not least to all the TWs they had to beat along the way! Reject is at Bob Kennedy's. Rejet is a 2013 &2014 Performance sire. Blue Bio Blue Jet II will be as soon as the process is completed. Joe called from Va. and Hope is piggy from Rejet. Scott Phillip's Hooker is too. Have fun folks-tis the season.

Merry Christmas and thanks for the Cards, calls and text messages. I enjoy your comments and thoughts on here. So many of you do such a good job of covering many different dog related subjects in a limited amount of space. I do not. In my attempts to address questions about breeding, usually by private message, I am trying to be honest and helpful while telling people the truth. I feel good about our breed and the efforts of so many of you to produce a good hound. One of my goals is to put a hound in your hands worth something with a lot of zeros and some commas behind the $ sign. Had a great time in Orangeburg. The Blueticks did pretty good too. I will have more details later. A lot of people visited BBCHA,s table during the event. Met some new people and got to visit with a lot of people I had not seen in years. Thank yous to everyone who stopped by and to everyone of you who signed up. 2014 is off to a flying start. Got a good case of jet lag right now, so I'm gonna hit the rack. More to follow.

Think I brought back a touch of the flu with me from Orangeburg. Each time I thought I was over it, I found out I wasn't. Been working some young pups-lots of tracks, lots of barking and lots of treeing. Love to see them go from this to the finished product. These have enough heart, fire and go to convince me of my age-that by the way is not a complaint. Tonight we decided to load a little heavier artillery. As Mr. James G. Davis used to say "The John Brown coon wanted to run!" And run he did. So nice when the coon cooperates by really stretching out. When we got to the tree you could tell it was broke off up high. No vines, so I started squalling and out he came from the hole. It does not happen often but we were glad it did tonight. If the coon had it to do over (he doesn't) I'm sure he would not have poked his head out. I have said it before, pop ups and quickies are nice, but really running a coon is what it is all about to me. And yes I want to hear them talking the whole way too! No semi silent fiest here.
