Female

Nice bred female. I hunted with her mother Mable many years ago in a cast with Doyle at the Fall Roundup. Mable won the cast. Lonnie and Gary were also on the cast. We had a good hunt.

Hawk II x Tourners Deep Fork Souri

Just wondering if anyone owns or knows of any dogs out of this cross? The litter was born on 09/13/2010.
Robert Turner from Beggs, Oklahoma owns, or did own, the Souri female.

Uchtmans blue Jobe

I have a female thought about breeding to jobe, called last week just wondering what it would take to breed to him $400 it what he told me. What makes a dog worth $400 to breed to? the only pup in these parts Tim Lincoln owns and he doesn,t even like him he will tree a coon but not Tims style. Think I will pass, let me know what you guys think?

Posted by Gary Napier II on 09-25-2012 01:37 AM:

I personaly do not think that any dog is worth 400 dollars to breed to. Not even a world champion. But, that is just my opinion. If a owner believes that his or her stud dog is worthy of a high stud fee then I believe they are entitled to their opinion. It's up to the public to decide if they want to pay it. The market will take care of itself usually. If the stud fee gets set to high, the owners will reduce the fee eventually.

LOU

Well Lou is back out in the woods after her heat period and never missed a beat. I never got Lou bred, which is not a bad thing as she is not two yet and I wanted to hunt her this season. The pups would have came on the first day of coon season here in Ohio so it wasn't a bad thing not getting her bred. She looks like she had not been laid up and did a great job last night. Dave P.S. Lou is by Zeb/Sky.

Great Looking Hounds !

Those Uchtman hounds always have the great looks ! The Uchtman's are to be paid respect in keeping great looks of a hound in their line of dogs . There are some tuff Utchman hounds out there ! Some of you guys need to go to this line for looks if nothing else > wow < there are ugly ones out there . What do you guys think that is causing such a wide range of looks in other bloodline of bluedogs of today ? There are some with pepsi bottle heads, short ears , longer than wanted hair, short legs , back legs higher than the front , eyes close together , flat footed .

Over the years, I have had several people call wanting to breed to a dog I was hunting. When asked about a stud fee, I immediately asked $500. In my opinion, if that guy thinks enough to pay $500 to breed his female, she must not be junk. Most people want to hunt with a stud before they breed to him, but you don't ever get to hunt with their female.

More times than not, once the female was bred, and the fee was due, I dropped the fee to $200 or a pup. Unless the female being bred or the female's owner was questionable, then I stick to my guns of $500.

If you want to experience some fun, offer a dog to the public for stud. You will be lied to so much that you come to expect it.

I like your way of thinking. I do believe that both dogs should prove they are worthy of beeing bred by their performace in the woods. Having said that, I still do not believe in paying outlandish stud fees. No crosses are a can't miss. I've seen it too many times. People pay high prices in stud fees and high prices for pups and are often disappointed with the results. This is just my opinion.

I agree 110%

some crosses that I have seen made that I thought just couldn't miss turned out to be flops

I don't mind paying a little more to get a pup from an outstanding female....you would think it would increase your odds a bit but they can turn out culls just like any of them

Gunner made two trees tonight and had the meat both times.

He is a very nice looking hound! It looks as if he is a nice tree dog also! How old is he?

Gunner

Thank you, Gary! Gunner just turned 2 in September. He does a pretty good job most of the time. But there has been a time or two that I could have choked him, lol.
