Smoke pups

First litter of pups out of Smoke we kept one male and he got ran over by a fuel truck. Have two littermate sisters to the one that got killed and one of them ( Hic ) belong to Taylor Kellerman is running and treeing really good right now. They just turned 9 months old.
Have one male out of Smoke and Lou that is ready to be weaned. He isn't big enough to make a stand off with the barn cats yet but he will wait till one of them is just laying around and then make a wild run at them. Most of the time they will take off so he can run them. It's funny to watch.
Have two litters comming the middle of August out of Wendy and Pearl crossed on Smoke.

Timmy has been keeping the dogs all tuned in the timber and I have been takeing it easy and doing the roading late at night. This heat is still hard on the dogs.

Timmy and I are takeing Robin to Marshall Mo. this weekend for the Show down hunt. Hope we can do some good. She looks pretty sharp right now.

Mad Dog Second Hand Smoke is way too little yet to know but he is one busy little dude. The cats and chickens can out run him so he lays in ambush for them. He's allways thinkin.
You are right, if he is anything like his big sister he will be a dandy. We hope so.

Robin won the Mo. Impressive Hound Show Down, Queen of Hunt this past weekend. She won Grand Night friday night with Timmy handleing with 775 plus and last night with me handleing and had another 225 plus.
Had a super good weekend with her and had a blast hunting with Tim and Larry.

Congrats guys! Sounds like Robin is really on her game right now. We haven't been hunting much the last few weeks due to work and the heat. Holy cow its been hot! I head back to Wichita Tuesday to start another project. I am not sure when they will send me back up in your country Roy. I may just have to come up when I get done with work this fall.

Went last night with smoke by himself. He made 3 trees in less than an hour. Lay up with the coon, lay up circle with vines most the tree unable to shine, and ran a track short a ways with a litter on the end. He can tree a lot of coon in lots of different conditions. This makes me think of a colder wetter time when I was huntin him in nt ch cast, treein 3 and 4 singles on the outside in 12 inches and two times in 8 inches of snow. Different extremes for our country.

Everett and Tim, we r thinkin very serious about makin that cross happen this fall. Its worked with other dogs, might be worth a shot. I believe it would be the first half brother half sister cross of turk dogs that I know of. Tim correct me if im wrong.

I had the good fortune to be able to hunt with Smoke one night at Bluetick Days. This dog is the real deal. What I saw out of him is that he is a coon dog that doesn't have to have certain types of coon to look good. Good nose, tracking ability, and layup ability all rolled up into one dog. He is the type of dog that would be a pleasure to hunt during the week but can and has won easily on the weekend because he does it right. I'd suggest anyone that can, go take a hunt with Smoke and see for yourself if this coon tree'r can help your breeding program.

For your confidance in Smoke. We like him and as Tim once said "He aint done yet!"

Going to hit a few hunts with him and just go to the bigger ones.

His pups are doing better then anybody would expect out of 9 month old pups. Taylor Kellerman's "Mad Dog Smokein Hickory" female is really close to being ready to put in the hunts. Possible that she could go now but we want her to be just a bit older before she gets exposed to the hunts.

No rain here

Starting to get dry in places.haha Haven't seen it this dry before. We are still treeing coon. Had 4 young females all going and they all 4 came in heat with in a week of each other.
Just hunting Smoke and Robin. They are in good shape and taking the heat real well. Course we don't push em real hard maybe just a dump or two apiece.
Been working on the welping room in our new kennel. Put in airconditioning and can welp three females at once with outside runs. Wendy and Pearl will have pups in the next week or so.

We qualified smoke last night at clinton mo rqe. Treed three times by himself. Two big circle trees and one coon. no minus. Good enough for eighth place. No big scores last night. everybody said coon didnt seem to be movin real good. I think they had 44 dogs there.

When we got home wendy had 9 pups 8 still alive. good night for smoke lol.
