My New Year's Present!

Well Kitty had her pups, 6 in all, 3 Males and 3 Females.
Now I know that even though Cryo Joe is from alot of hounds that produce a high number of males he's producing about an even amount. That's good for future breedings and spreading the bloodline. Talked with one of my cousins and we worked out a deal for him to build me an aluminum box like the one I just built for my 4 wheeler, for one of these. The box I built still works fine but that would be light enough for me to put on the 4-wheeler myself. Good news all around!

Dave it's funny how some of these hounds seem to figure things out. Dozer and others I've had will tree great until you are right under the tree. Then have fun getting them to bark while their waiting for you to shoot. They've got enough grit they sure don't want to miss out on the action of the game coming out of the tree, so they sit there and wait. I've had them do that so they could get right under where the coon was falling out but didn't figure they'd do that with something as big as a bear.

Kitty got fat.

She's been sitting around and I thought she was getting bigger from pups. Well she hasn't had anymore and she's still pretty big. Looks like 6 is it. The way she looked, I figured she was good for near 10.

I'm at the house for Christmas/NewYears Break. Sure would be nice if she would go ahead and pop them out before I go back to school.

Hey you know what it's all about. After all those literally days on end, at times without even a break for a nap, of driving and walking aorund a Hummer in downtown Baghdad driving on the highway in the good ol USA is a cake walk. Even if I've got hounds all packed in there with me. I enjoy meeting all the Redbone people I do on my travels.
What's really going to look wild is all the pups I'm about to be dropping off from both Kitty and Daisy. All the females are spoken for and then some but I've still got an open space or two on a male. That's going to be a trip for sure. That's ok, the good ol military trained me up right for being able to pull it off.

Daisy has been having her pups a little soon. Looks like this time she's going full term all the way. I sure appreciate John letting me use that semen from Harry. When I first got back into things again I sure liked his PED and while I was checking, heard alot of good things about Harry. One of the very first PM's I sent was to check on this hound, to find out he had passed but that John had stored some semen on him. I never dreamed that I'd be able to get some of it after finding out what had happened and the limited supply. He was really the only newer hound I was really interested in at the time. Well the two crosses that I have been waiting on all this time will soon be here. Then it'll be time to hunt NtCh Kitty and GrCh Daisy up and finish them out in the hunts.

Your more than welcome for the semen! I don't mind blessing friends! As a matter of fact, I treasure friendships more than these old dogs! Sometimes I get a little bothered when people try to take advantage of me, but everyone see's things from their own perspective. When time passes and you re-connect with them you find out that they had ligitimate reasons for what they did but all I saw was my side! We get emotionally attached to these old hounds and when someone makes comments about them (even if there true) we get defensive and the rest is history! I hope this cross accomplishes what you want!
BTW: I appreciated what your wife had to say on her post last night! I was going to comment, but I see it's gone today! March to your own drum Steve, and enjoy yourself! After all, I don't think anybody else pays your feed bill so if they're not happy with what you do, they can stop reading your posts and do their own thing! Seems pretty simple to me! Take care,

They're Here!

Daisy had her first one this morning at about 2:30 that woke me up for sure. I could hear some extra wining. Well by the time we got up she hadn't had another. So my wife called in and stayed home to see if she could help her out. Well Daisy was pushing but nothing was coming out. She took her to the Vet and come to find out it was a water baby. Vet said it was very unusual in a hound. The things head was the size of a grapefruit. It had all the others held back. So once they pulled it out piece by piece here they came. So far we've got 8 with some more on the way. Problem is there's only 1 female, so far that is alive. the water baby unfortunately was a female. There are at least 2 or 3 more though so time will tell how many females there will be. I could tell she was big and the water baby threw me off some but looks like we've got 11 to 12 pups at least!

She said to thank you guys. She's really interested in these old hounds. I've had some odd attacks as of late and she likes to keep up with things and was hoping to help out. Not sure what happened with her post.
I warned her I was really into these old hounds when we were dating and when we were talking of getting married. However, after I got back into things she finally sat down one day and said you are really into working with these hounds like some people are with horses, she has a Equine (Horse) Bussiness Degree. I said well yeah I told you that. She was like well I just didn't think people would get that serious about dogs. Every since then she has kept up with my stuff and helped me out tons, feeding the hounds since I can't lift the feed sacks, helping me train, and is a huge help with the pups. It wouldn't be possible for me to run the farm and keep my hounds without her.

Speaking of puppies here's what Daisy looked like before hand.

Well got Daisy moved into this one today. She wasn't sure what to do with a welping box that big. Good thing Daisy produces milk like a cow, to feed all 10 of them.

Even the lone female is doing fine. Sure got plenty of males to sell now. Harry normally throws about half and half. Considering Daisy has only had 3 females and one of those died I'm thinking she may have something to do with this equation. Good thing her son, Cryo Joe, is producing half and half.

Fat and Healthy

Looks like Daisy might be going to raise all 10 of them. Kitty's got one of her 6 that I'm a little worried about but Daisy's are doing great! They are super active and just take turns. Half sleep while the other half eats and they just kinda rotate thru.

Yeah we could have done a trade one of yours for one of mine.

No luck on that now though. Got a big pile of males. Good thing is this probably means more of them will get to make it to the hunts. Females get bred so that for many the quality of hound isn't shown on the paper. Kitty and Sue are perfect examples.

well all i can say im sure glad u messgd me lol im pretty sure the guys i hunt with at work are sick of hearin about "me & my female pup" lol i appreciate what youve done alot!& if ur ever up my way for somthin id like to hunt with ya
