Just a little report on 1st day of 3 day season, i did;nt make it but guys i hunt with killed two , 1st was 178 dressed 2nd was 192 dressed gottem out quick skinned cut up and in the freezer. thats all i got--- see ya

Rob, to hunt elk here you have to send in $ and application and hope ur name is drawn, so we never tried to get an elk tag.
Archery season started here, so far Chuck's had a bear, a spike and a 4 pt under him. He saw 2 bobcats while driving around scouting for places to hunt.
We had frost here this am and yesterday. My friend lives about 20 miles from here she said it was 25° at her house on Sunday am.

Here the bucks have to at least have 3 pts on one side, south of us, they have to have at least 4 pts. Bear season isn't in until mid-November.
His back is bothering him so bad that he came home early from hunting this morning and tonight. As soon as he came home this AM, I called the dr. He has an appt tomorrow afternoon. I'm guessing herniated disc, sure hope not.

HOPE IS BACK GETS BETTER. I ENJOYED HUNTING ELK. I SHOT A 5 x 5 IN COLORADO AND MISSED ONE IN IDAHO. ALOT OF PACKING OUT. DO YOU THINK THE POINT RESTRICTION THAT PA HAS IS HELPING THEM GET BIGGER OR NOT....? WE HAVE A WIERD POINT RESTRICTION HERE.

The antler restriction probably is helping with the bucks getting bigger, but I still don't like it.

Dan, congrats on the gang getting bears. I saw bear trax when I was riding horse last wkend. It's a zoo around here in bear season.

Chuck's brother texted me tonight, he wanted to know if Chuck could go down in the AM to try to find a buck their dad shot with his crossbow tonight. They lost the blood trail tonight.

The dr called today, said the xray showed the cushion between his L5, L4 and down his tailbone is thinning. Recommended he go to physical therapy. Not in archery season.

My son (mike) got a nice 8 pointer this evening, 16 inch spread and i,ve never seen one so fat i mean butterball fat, well hes in the fridge will grind it all tomorrow. hope everyone is well ---- see ya

100 degree heat factor today. Didn't Oct. use to be a little cooler. 78 and very humid at 6 this mornin. Got 8 tenths of rain out of Nate and another front that passed through fri/sat. No wind at all, well it was even less than we had last week as it blowed out of the east all week.

Deer are moving along with the no shoulders. Peanut harvest coming along and pecan and cotton just starting.
