2017 Bluetick Reunion and Location update:

We have been hearing static the hunt location has not been tied down so here is the latest update we have. Hope it helps!!

No the site is NOT set yet.

BBOA voted to have it in Sigler as it is the only club that bid, however BBCHA has rejected that site. We are working with BBCHA to see if that can be resolved or if another site may have to be located. We will be meeting with BBCHA at Autumn Oaks to see what can be determined.

Please read your ballots when they come and vote.

Took Riptide and Misty tonight for two dumps. First dump they treed right at 875 yards and had a double in a little cherry tree along a corn field. Second dump Riptide treed right at 450 yards treed with another double, Misty got left out on this one! Called it a night as I was hotter than the hounds!

Getting ready to head out to the Zone 4 Championship in Johnstown Ohio for a two night hunt and Election on Sat.. It is going to be a hot one! We are just hunting Riptide and may show him if Corey thinks he can handle it!

We just got done hunting the zone 4 championship in Johnstown ohio. We first like to thank Keith Swick for guiding us and putting us in coons. Riptide won the Grch class on the bench and then scored 900 plus and a cast win on the Grnitech cast. Its amazing what a hound can do when there put in coons. lol Not sure what the others scores was but do know another cast came in with 775 plus. Gonna hit it again tomorrow and see if we cant do some good. I was proud of the ol boy for doing as good as he did with it being as hot as it was.

Corey handled Riptide tonight at the BBOA Zone 4 Championship in Johnstown Ohio and there was another Grand Nite to hunt against. Corey won tonight with 600 plus, no minus points and 225 circle. For the two nights Riptide made 6 trees by himself, one second tree with a coon and had one circle tree by himself. Total plus points for two night 1500, no minus and 225 circle. We had a great time, great guide and great hunting. Hoping to carry some of this over to AO in a couple weeks.

Well Corey has started the handling training of Doc inside a fenced in park. We always take Riptide when we take the pups as I feel they pick up a lot from the old boy. Doc is 3 1/2 months old now and he is barking a drag / tree a little. In about another two weeks we will start doing a few turn outs in the corn field for him and let him get the stupid stuff out of him a little. He is very bold and working him down should not be an issue!! Doc is out of Riptide and Carters Dancer Bitch.

Just looked at the total entries at Autumn Oaks and Blueticks came in second on the most entries. 127 is a pretty good number for a hunt of this size. Would be great to see a few Blue hounds in the running or win it! Good luck to all Blue hounds and handlers! The Great state of Indiana had 115 entries out of the total of 689, not bad Indiana!

Took Riptide by himself tonight for a couple dumps and the first dump he hit and tree about 275 yards but it was a bad track and it was early, kitten in a small tree next to a cherry tree. Second dump nothing and we drove around the next county road and once we stopped he hit right in front of us and ran in a corn filed for just a few minutes and treed a big oak tree along corn field and had a old sow and four kittens. Called it a night, just trying to keep the old boy half way tuned up.

Well I took Riptide out for a short hunt tonight by himself. 1st drop he hit red hot in a swamp and slammed the tree about 240 yards and had one. 2nd drop he got in there right at 300 yards and opened and ran in the corn field a short bit down to the big creek and treed, walked in and had anther. And decided to come home and call it a night. I just wanted to get him out to stretch his legs a little before Friday night at AO. I went off and forgot the camera tonight so maybe another night for some pics.

Thanks guys! All we hope for is to get some good hunting grounds and take it from there. We drew some pretty good hounds like many others did. Can take getting beat by a better hound but hate to have poor hunting and the hounds not even having a chance like some other hunts we have been too. Looking forward to see what the old boy looks like in some coons again. We did draw a good Blue Bitch and we always love to see a good Blue female go!

Shout out for Tide. Good luck guys. Trust your dog and call him for what he is doing not what you want him to be doing. That advice was given to me by Tim Vaughn years ago and I have lived by it since with no regrets.

We took Riptide, Misty and Mo Doc tonight to see if we could tree a couple sick ones. Doc is just a little over 4 months old and his second trip to the woods. He has not mastered it yet but seems be having fun! First dump did not hit a track and picked the hounds up right at 900 yards crossing another gravel road. Second dump they hit a old rough one along a ditch and corn field and finally got it treed and had it.

Well we made it too Butler Illinois for Zone 1 BBOA Illinois state championship. Hope there is several Blue hounds that makes a good showing!

I hunted the BBOA Zone 1 Illinois State Hunt tonight and hunted Roy Clifton's Grnitech Pr Mad Dog Tree Rockin Robin. Ol Robin pulled one out tonight. 1st dump, 1st and 1st on a coon. 2nd drop, 3rd strike and 1st tree off by herself with a coon. Last drop she had 3rd strike and time ran out. Ended up with 400 plus no minus or circle. Robin was High scoring dog of the hunt. We gonna give it another try tommorow night. Ol Charlie wants a rematch agian with bud. LOL
