SKIPPED a day of school and Mikey Shot his first Bear. It was 350LBS! It was 50 inches around at the rib cage. It was a bear for the books. English dogs did a good job.

Shaken it up in NH

Adding to the dog squad. A new puppy is suppose to show up at the door on 10/11..... Getting one of those Walker Dawgs. Kind of an equal opportunity coon chaser thing we have going on here. Trying hard not to judge by the multi color but I keep asking myself, did I bump my head last night?

Oh well don't see that good anyways

Whose all ready for opening?? We all are. I'm shooting for 20 in the freezer by Sunday night. Anybody else like to project their harvest numbers?
I also have a new scope coming. Supposed to be here by Fri. Just in time to sight it in. Here's a link for it.

Wow, that scope looks amazing! I'm betting with that you can leave the dogs home or even better, if you hunted with Black and Tans a person could come home with a coon

NH boys, that is a nice bear. Abram sure was impressed. He was telling my mom yesterday about " Michael getting a REALLY big bear, and Steven got a bear too, but Michael's was REALLY big!"

Scott B., you're going to have to change your username from deadeye to sniper pretty soon with a scope like that! Very nice.

Another year has gone by, season is opening, and Aub is rip-rearing, ready to go....heaven help us!

OPENER

I took Chief and Chance out and had two split trees and four others shot four had two den trees and left one in the tree. I was very happy the way the dogs performed. And to Deadeye i shot five times on four coon.

Missing or warming up?

Ok, when we get to the tree it always protocal:

- Everyone gets two warm up shots at the coon
- Then, it's acceptable to have do overs
- Only when all the ammo is gone do we use a shot gun with a police riot barrel, major spread.
If all that fails, we are sportsmen and walk away and declare that the coon has won.

Surprisenly if it takes an hour at the tree it adds alot of drama to the hunt . Honestly, there has been a couple of times that I would swear the dogs looked disgusted at us for taking so long but who would ever believe them, right?

Wait, what. Missing , do overs and followed up buy a riot gun. All for a 12 pound coon. Did he have a bullet proof vest on? Wear a red cape with a big S on it? Said he was from France and surrendered?

Nice pics and updates everyone, sounds like you all had a pretty good weekend!

On Friday night Chad Theis came over and brought his 2 dogs, Daisy (Clyde X Boo) and Maverick (Clyde X Ann). Aubrey took Ox (Clyde X Boo) and Dice (Clyde X Bonnie). The dogs ran 7 tracks and they shot 7 coon. Speaking of do-overs and such......what about 2 people shooting at a coon at the same time? I heard that was happening quite a bit.....I'd hate to know how many shots it took the two of them for the 7 coon.

Saturday night, Aubrey treed 20......in his dreams. Besides season opening, we also had other commitments this weekend, and he was just too tired.........getting old you know.

Last night, he took Clyde and Paris (Clyde X Ann), and they treed 3 and caught 1 on the ground.
