Coons have been really running good the last two nights. We hit them tonight in clear cuts on Blackberries and had three good chases. Two we seen and one den after a real nice chase. Hunted all three again tonight, trying to push them a little harder to get them in shape.

Went fishing down at the lake this morning and caught a few but not biting the way I like for them too. We then tried working Doc and let me tell you it is a job, he is way to active but I like to get them to stand and learn manners and the bench is a good place to work them. Just turned 8 weeks old today.

Been getting some talk about favorite picture on hunts we have had and one of my all time favorites is this one. It is Riptide and a 8 month old Female out of Roy Clifton's bitch Robin. Hanna was one heck of a tree dog for only 8 months old, her mommy was a real nice hard tree dog as well. I do not like a dog that jacks the tree, this is the style I like! This is one of the biggest trees we have treed on around here and let me tell you to get to the top you had better have a real good light!

Took all three again tonight, Riptide, Misty and Zoey. First dump they hit red hot at about 325 yards and Riptide went to the right and Misty and Zoey hard to the left. Riptide treed at about 625 yards and had one on a smaller tree and it was setting right out in the open. Misty and Zoey treed about 500 yard and we could not shine their tree at all. Next dump they hit deep and all three loaded up and were tree when we drove around to them and they had another one. Good night but still hot on them and me as well!

Well we are getting our plans all tied down for a few upcoming hunts with the first being the BBOA Zone 4 Championship & Ohio State Championship in Johnstown Ohio August 12 and 13th. The next hunt we are going to hit after Johnstown is Autumn Oaks in September. Been saving vacation time and cash for a few hunts to close out the year and thought these would be a couple good ones to hit. We are going to hunt Riptide at both and may hunt both Riptide and Zoey at Johnstown in August.

Corey was trying to work Doc a little today but it was a little to hot for him to stay focused! We have fans on all of them and they lay in front of them all the time. Picture is Corey with Mo Doc, he is out of Riptide and Dancer and is about 10 weeks old. Going to have some legs / running gears under him like his daddy the way he looks at 10 weeks old.

In this picture is two more Riptide / Dancer pups owned by Steven Carter and family. The one on the left is a female and the one on the right is a male and right at 10 1/2 weeks old. We feel we got the pups in the hands of some that will hunt them and give them a chance, that is all you can ask for.

Thanks Max! The one barking at the cat in the video is in Tenn. and a comp. hunter has him, hunts all PKC. He thought he had a nice mouth and great actions but the one we kept at the house is a tone higher and has that attitude, personality like Riptide. He may not have been the best looking but he is as bold as bold can be and loves to get out and roam, treed on a drag and no live coon used. We will start turning a few in corn fields to him in about a month. We have been asked if he is throwing the right kind? We told them we don't know as this was his first litter but we did breed to a descent bitch and a bitch that had some backing. Wont be like some and say he is the right kind when they have 58 to 100 pups and have very little to show for. I have a couple more real nice bitches lined up and out of the three litters I would like to see something or I too will move on. I know you can bred to of the best hounds around get nothing but still like my chances when breeding to a desent bitch. I dont have blinders on nor have dollar signs in my mind! LOL! Some thinks it takes 2 too 5 years to make a hound that can win a little, I think they are hunting the wrong kind! Now on a poistive note, I take it the boy is ready for Football season?

If things work out like we think, Misty should be coming in heat in early to mid Oct. and will be breed to Riptide. The timing should be just about right. Pups will be UKC performance, PKC Super Stake and If we can get it worked out they will be CHKC Super Staked as well.

Thanks Roy! We were looking for a little more foot on the female side and she has it, she is wired but handles very good and is a nice little treedog, sets back off the most of the time and just does her thing! I'm not much on the ones that move like me if you know what I mean! Big, Slow and Sloppy. LOL! Corey is trying to hook up with (Hanna) again, one we let go that we should have kept around here. There have been very few tree coons like her by herself at 9 months old and as accurate as she was. We will keep you update on this transaction!

Well we went on line and filled out the A/O entry and was very easy, better than mailing in and hope that it gets there, conf. in 5 business days. Have not been in a few years and kind of looking forward to it. We are just going to hunt Riptide and try to have a good hunt, winning would be nice but a good hunt is all a guy can ask for!
