Corey and myself took a little trip to Chillicothe Ohio last night to hunt with Brian Williams and his two young hounds out of his Dual Grand Levi male. Brain took to the old man for one drop and he rolled in and there and treed one. The rest of the night all he cut was his two young (16) month old hounds out of Levi. The male he is pushing is a Nite Champion with a few wins already towards Grand Nite and I think he is a Grand on the bench or real close, the hounds name is LJ. The bitch has not been hunted very much due to Brian pushing LJ but did what they are suppose too and she too is a very nice looking smaller made hound. We brought the Bitch back with us! We have been looking for a few good breed Bitches that can get treed and some background behind them and I feel we have found them thanks to Brian. Here is a picture of the Bitch we brought back with us, if she proves out she will be Riptide's new girl friend in the near future! Added pedigree today -

Thanks, she is wired and has plenty of desire and is very well started down the path of making a good one. Other pups are still young so it is good to having something to hunt besides the old hounds, you know what they will do. As to the pictures, well Corey did not take his phone with him as he was afraid to would get wet, one said ankle to knee deep and his first step off waist to chest deep. Wont go back, as when the fun is taken out of the hunting it is time to quite or make changes, we elect to make changes! LOL! Set us with some good hunting this early winter and we may come out and go for a couple nights hunting with you and the boys. We will try to bring one that will tree a coon!

Just caught the hounds from a short hunt tonight. Made three dumps and treed three coons. Two up one tree and a single and one dump not a bark. Tracks moved but were not very good. We turned out right at dark and the tracks were still bad, coons are moving right before dark with the kittens.

Well I finally got Misty pedigree typed up from Corey, he is good for something I guess! LOL! We are planning on breeding her to Riptide when she comes in. We feel we are getting closer all the time to what we are wanting to accomplish. This cross will be UKC performanced and PKC Super Staked.

We have our two pups home now out of Riptide and Dancer. I did the picking so if they don't make it Corey can blame me! LOL! Almost 6 weeks old now and doing good, basically eating all dry dog food in a automatic feeder along with a little boiled Chicken. We picked two males from the litter that had the fire under them!

No the Dancer female is owned by Steve Carter in New Albany Indiana. She was Queen of Bluetick Days in 2015.

Well we took Zoey and Misty hunting last night and had a pretty good hunt. First dump they hit and ran a track right at 500 yards and treed a large den tree. Second dump they hit and ran a short race around 325 yards and treed one on the outside. Last dump we cut them and they hit darn near off the lead and treed right at 175 yards in a big oak and we found it as well. Two for three not bad. Started taking Zoey again as we feel she did not take. We got her while she was in heat and took her to the vet and had her checked and AI, but did not take from what I can tell. The one thing for sure is the Ol gal can flat get under a coon in a hurry, and has it when she trees! After hunting had to make a emergency pick up and deleivery and that got me to bed about 2:00 AM and left for work at 4:30 so early to bed tonight!

Tim is in the hay field so not much hunting around here for a little while.
Zoe sounds like a super nice female that is a blast to hunt. Maybe next time Tide will catch her just right. I've gone thru that too.

Thanks Roy! Yes it is starting to warm up but we are not pounding them so they will be alright around here, three or four nights a week and normally just a few hours due to working and hunting is hard on a old man! We keep fans on them during the days and plenty of shade for them, have it better than I did as a young one growing up! LOL! Yep we missed it on Zoey and was really looking foward to that cross, no more AI for a while with us. Have you ever hunted one that casues you no grief? Zoey is that type of hound! Pups are very active and outgoing and hoping to get one that makes the grade but there is a lot of work ahead of us and as you know the odds are not that great even on some of the best crosses. Tell Timmy he is young and putting up that hay should not effect his coon hunting! LOL!

We took Riptide and Misty last night and had a real nice hunt. We made three dumps and treed two trees with coons and one time in the creek bank after running right at 500 yards. Corey took a short clip of how they sounded for being as hot as it was last night, felt they did a pretty nice job. Misty seems to be settling in a little bit better now.

Brian I believe Misty is getting use to the other hounds! She is treeing much better with another dog and hitting pretty steady. Riptide and Zoey will sure enough keep her busy! Tonight she going to hit with Zoey once again. They have been treeing pretty good for being hot, you can hear them panting but they still treed descent.

Well Corey forgot the camera tonight but we still had a real good night for 1/2 moon and being a little warm. We made four dumps and made three trees. Two dumps we turned out Zoey and Misty and they treed a litter of kittens and made another tree with a coon looking at us on it. We then dumped Misty by herself two dumps and made one big tree and could not find it but was a good track. Next dump Misty hit and ran it descent for a while and it fizzled out and we called her in. We seen two foxes tonight, a couple skunks, who knows how many deer, several grinners and last but not least seen four coons crossing the road. Things were moving good and would have never thought they would.

Quick short hunt last night with Zoey, too hot for me and the dogs but got the Ol gal out for two quick dumps. Two dumps and two trees and both with coons, one a litter of kittens. The woods in the hills are really dry, need a little rain.

Well it has cooled off a little and things were running. Took Riptide, Zoey and Misty all three tonight for some punishment. First dump they split and were across the river, well the river was up a lot higher than I thought! Drove the Ranger around and was about three mile drive all together before we got around to them and they were split treed. Riptide and Misty together and Zoey by herself. Found Zoey's coon and could not shine Riptide and Misty tree at all. Next dump all three hit a good track around 175 yards and drove it to about 425 and treed and had it. Last dump they hit and ran one about 500 plus yards and treed in a creek bank / bull dozer pile. Called it a night!
