Dan Mitchell stopped by this morning to drop Jazz off to be bred this week. This is a second time cross. Jazz is a nice coondog. I would be putting her is the hunts for dan if I didn't have a pup out of dutch I am pushing. She has a male mouth with a locate that makes the hair on the back of neck stand up. The first litter is 11 months old and there are some outstanding pups that are really turning it on. I have a female here that is a loud track driving machine. This little bitch is a first strike dog and is super fast bawl on track hard chop on tree. I can give references on other pups from this cross.

The pup I have out of the first litter split and help pressure the 2nd time in the woods. Huge mouth and a super nice pup.

Not so good. We had a LONG corn field run. Brian Halversons Cheyanne female treed a litter of kits in the bottom of a hollow tree with about 15min left in the hunt and that was it. We had one dog go down from over heating. It wasn't pretty, thank goodness he will be ok.

Greg Mcdowell said Magnum will have heat strokes too. Like i said in the pm I sent you my Annie is way fat and Im trying to hunt her some and road her a bit. Maybe 1 mile a night. Like tonite I will wait till almost dark when its cooler. You know dogs are just like humans they better be in shape and you still better be careful.

Uno update.....

Haven't been on in here in awhile. Been tryin to get Uno out as much as I can. He has been split treein from the other dogs with the meat. He will turn a year old on Fri the tenth.

Hey shawn. Haven't heard from in a while. Sounds like uno is getting it done. That's great. I'll take a 11/12 month old spliting anytime. So how those new babies treating ya. Keeping ya busy I'm sure.

Had a great weekend! Those black dogs really can put the heat on those black bears. Friday night we pulled the dogs off as they came to a busy HWY. Saturday morning we treed a sow and cubs, did not get a bear in the air on saturday night and we slammed a 200 lb bear in about a half hour sunday morning. Took us about a hour of hard walking to get to them. All six dogs were at the tree and we headed for home.

Nice. I should of went up with ya. I have a little break between the 4 different practices we have today. It's freaking hot and the 99% humidity doesn't help matters. Glad I'm just standing there yelling and blowing a whistle rather than doing all the work.lol

Been really busy, Cory. By the time the kids get to sleep I am usually too tired to get out. Doesn't help I have been workin three jobs a lot of the summer.

Still been gettin out at least once a week though.

Were heading back up there thursday and will be back on sunday. That is enough bear hunting for awhile. Hopefully I can get some decent pictures.

Thanks Bryan. These next 2 weeks I'll be lucky to turn a dog loose. Did you guys get some good rain. I'd say we got plenty in the last 3 days. Making fb practices a little tough.

Yes we got alot of rain. I don't suppose Ill be hunting either. But again never know. Spur of the moment thing you know.

Thanks for the picture. Hopefully I can get to the woods this week. Our 2 a days are done so I might be able to get out later but we still practice from 6-9.

We started 2 a days last monday along with 5/6 grade and 7/8 grade camps. Made for a long ass day having 4 different practices.

Corey had the female out again. Shes not affraid of the dark. Thats a plus. I need to get a coon out to her. Maybe if I can get a cage coon let her work with that.

This female like water too. She'll put her front feet in her water bowl and stick her nose completely under water to dring. My Annie does that too. They know how to stay cool.
