Hunting

Well I'm trying to talk a buddy of mine into letting me hunt one of his. If nothing else I'll probably turn Daisy loose on Thurs. That'll only be her 20th. time to the woods period, that includes a few 15 min. or so turn out coons. I mean she'll tree coons and she's 100% straight. However, she's just not what I'd call a finished dog becuase she hasn't had the woods time and won't until she has some more pups. Sure don't want to loose her blood.

I understand 100% about losing her Im in the same boat with Queen.

I never been to WI hunting thats one of the few places Ive not hunted & dont look like I'll be making it the way things are now.

Im sure it would be a great place to start a pup up there with all the coons they have.

I would like to buy me a couple acres about 30 miles across the state line in some small town they say its great hunting & not many hunters at all I had some friends go up there a few yrs. ago they said them coons had never been ran with a dog the way they acted.

Looking to move somewhere just dont know where yet my better yrs. are behind me now, so I need to do something pretty soon just hate to leave my kids & grandbabys.

LIGHT'IN & TWIGGY

This little gip is off Light'in & is coming on really strong.

She is owned by Robbie Ewry & myself. She 24 months old now.

Twiggy treed 2 coons at the age of 5 1/2 months old the Easteren KY & has never looked back.

Robbie is doing a great job with her.

Robbie is also hunting Betty & she is coming around I dont think she had been hunted alot but shes getting it now we see improvement each time she is took to the woods. And she is a (((TREEDOG))) !!!!!!

Betty is off NT.CH. Huey & the Pepper Ann Gip this gip has a HUGH MOUTH she is louder than most males she will be bred to Light'in at a later date should make a heck of a cross these pups should have mouths that will hurt your ears , Light'in is sure putting HUGH MOUTHS on his pups about as good as you could ask for.

Josh Guffey has a 1/2 sister to Betty & she has that big ol HUGH MOUTH on her also Huey must have put the mouths on his pups also.

Now that's funny about Little Twister. I believe this was the Veterinarians name that you used back when we bred Twister to Ginger. Is he still around? If I remember right I think he used a balloon to keep everything in once you insemenated the female. If he's not still around what's the best one you know of now? Do they use the same technique? When I was younger that didn't make much sense to me but knowing what I do now seems like that'd work well.

I understand, he was up the telling you he had him & come on whata waiting on.

Its been another HOT one here today be glad for it to cool down a little never seen it so hot for the time of year, but its alittle cooler than yesterday.

Just went & picked up a pup off Light'in & Queen my cousin had him & hes getting out of hunting hes one of the 8 month old pups hes a real looker. My cousin is a EPA man & works alot out of town so he didnt have time to train him.

We need to have a hunt sometime when it cools off we will have you over sometime.

I just seen in my new AM. COONER book where Timothy Ball was high on this place in OK for frozen seman he said they knew what they were doing & having real good luck getting pups.

The name is All Pets Medical Center Altus,Ok didnt see a # I think he stated they were at a 90% rate on getting pups on Frozen Seman.

I will be looking at this place later on to see what they can do with some Seman & Ive been told the younger the gip the better chance you have getting pups off her this is what Never Gone K9 Breeding Center has told me also.

Well he should know what he's talking about. I'll definately have to check into that place in Altus. With all the expense in getting pupsicles I would sure hate to put in the effort to get none or just a couple of pups. Nevermind the lost time in producing more pups. Thanks for the help.

I went back & looked in the book looks like there getting 7.3 Avg. on a litter of pups that a good litter that was out of 180 breeding.

About the best I had ever heard was around 5 pups out of a litter on A.I.s so they must know there stuff.

The June Issue of Bloodlines shows that another dog finished to NiteCh. Bethoven, ( Twister X Music ) made NiteCh. at 10 years old. This gives the old Twister dog 19 titled dogs out of 223 , and an 8.52 reproduction percentage. Is there any others out there that can make it at this late date? The Clint dog of Rick Golden and Ruby female of Charles Robbins are two that could, if given the chance in competition. That's a fact. Probably, this will never happen.

The old dog has had a great run. He was a great coon dog and proved himself as a reproducer, one of the best.

Thanks to all that gave his pups a chance in the woods. With out you folks, he would have just been another dog.

That's Great.

One things for sure not all dogs are still able to do it when they are older like that. However, this Fireball stuff and especially with the go power of Twister sure will. It's great when you can have an old dog that is past his prime and still go out there and woop dogs that are in theirs. Especially, if it's a Walker. Don't suppose one of those with Clint or Ruby would be willing to let a young guy try finish one of them out for them do ya? I'd do it for free if the dogs are right.
Mr. Terry, that is sure some good pup #'s at that place. It definately sounds like they'll be the ones to contact.
