Nothing wrong with possum dogs. Some make it to the final 4.

He said that Gin treed two coons and he looked at one and he was sure she had the other one,but the tree she was treed on was a big tree that was leaning into two more big trees and he could not get him to look.
Thanks Dennis for the kind words on Sheba. She is a grand pup off your Joe dog and she is a good one.

Youth Hunt
Scott, we didn't win anything at the Stat Youth Hunt. The dogs did good and the kids did good and we all sure had a good time. It sure was good to see all those kids there. Its been a long time since I've seen so many people intered up in a Bench Show and I think there was 17 intered in the nite hunt. I sure had a good time watching those kids do their thing and how serious they were about it. I think I had one little girl on my cast that was 5 years old and she didn't want anyone helping her handle her dog. We had a great time.

Illinois Road Trip
Steve and I had a wonderful trip up to Mr. and Mrs. Ed Mauney's in Illinois. I would like to thank Mr. Ed and Mrs. Mary for all of their Hospitality. If you ever get the opportunity to go visit with these two, don't pass it up. Mr. Ed is a Bluetick encyclopedia and Mrs. Mary is a wonderful cook. I always wondered why Mr. Ed stayed so Healthy, now I know. I think I gained a few pounds in just a couple of days. I would also like to thank Steve for inviting me along on this road trip. You could never have a better traveling companion or hunting partner than Steve Bankston. I thoroughly injoyed the trip. All the dogs did real good. Mr. Ed's Bobbie female is probably as good as any female that I have ever walked into the woods with. Bo Is as nice a young dog as I have hunted with. To know this all you have to do is go hunting with him. I'll always have good memories of our Illinois Road trip
here is the sister to your dog,she is making a pretty nice hound

Chris and Clayton came by earlier tonight and picked up Gin with Doll V and went hunting. They said they had a real good hunt. They made 4 trees and looked at 6 coon. In this part of the country that's a great hunt and was out of the woods by 11 oclock.

Smoke and Sheba 11
I loaded Smoke up a little after dark and traveled down the road a few miles to a good swamp. Turned him in on an ole slough. The coons were not moving so he went hunting. He made about a 1500 yrd circle and came back up on another slough out close to the blacktop where I had entered the swamp. I had already seen on the Garmin that he was getting close to the blacktop and I started his way. When I got back to the gate and stopped the 4-wheeler he was treed down the slough to the right. I went down another woods road until I was even with him and walked into him. He was treed right on the edge of the slough. I found the coon pretty quick. I knocked this one out to him and we walked back to the 4-wheeler and on to the truck. I put Smoke in his pen and loaded up Sheba 11 and headed to the swamp. I turned her off an ole woods road. She went in about 100 yrds and struck a pretty good track, crossed the woods road about 100 yrds farther down and ran the track in about 300 yrds and locked up treed. I road around and got to about 200 yrds of her and walked into her. I found the coon pretty quick and petted her up some and left this one to run again. I loaded Sheba up and we headed to the river. I turned her down a branch and she went in about 150 yrds and struck a cold track. She moved it in a ways and treed. I walked in to her and she was treed up a huge oak. I shined for a few minutes. He could have easily been there, but I couldn't get him to look. We walked back to the 4-wheeler and called it a night.
Sheba II

Gin and Smoke
Geremy and I loaded Gin and Smoke up yesterday evening and traveled to Brookhaven, Ms. to their UKC Nite Hunt. Geremy and Gin had a dead cast. Me and Smoke fared a little better. Smoke managed to get treed alone at 1.2 miles from the truck that had 2 coons in it, That's a long walk for an old man and then you got to turn around and come back. The tree looked like a big den tree with holes in it, but it had 2 coons on the out side. We treed one more and looked at it and was running another one when the time ran out. I was hunting with some good guys and some good dogs. Smoke came out of it with a 1st place win.
