WB, u need to have a real heart to heart with Christian about Red dawgs. Get him a DVD of "Where the Red Fern Grows" for Christmas.

We went out to set some traps today, but brought them all home. Snow was to deep to get to where we caught the bobcat and fisher last yr...hopefully in a couple of days it will melt off.

Yikes....snake in the Christmas tree!! It would be dead if I found it in my house. I kill everyone I see in the yard. Reminds me of Chuck's nieces. Yrs ago, they came here when their parents came to help us make hay. My SIL and I were taking a break and the girls (probably 4 yrs old and 6 yrs old) wanted to look for birds' nests in our pine trees. After about 10 minutes, we heard them screaming and they came running down crying. We asked what happened and the older girl said they pulled a pine limb down to look at a bird nest and a snake was on the branch sticking its tongue out at them. Then her sister said like this and stuck her tongue out at us a couple of times. We started laughing and they cried even harder☺
Did some scouting today....still some wildlife left in the county. Saw deer tracks (Chuck saw an 8 pt and a few doe), bear tracks, coyote tracks, bobcat tracks, regular rabbit and snowshoe rabbit tracks and grouse and turkey tracks. I was feeling a little depressed this Am...was on FB and saw my friend's Aussie Shepard died and another friend posted she was heading out for her radiation treatment 😞 Needed some woods time with Chuck for a pick me up.

Took r moms to the casino yesterday. We all lost, but Chuck. I didn't lose much and he didn't win much....we came home with $3.50 of their $ 😄 I won a few hundred dollars ($75 my biggest win), but gave it back.

We started setting traps today. Only have 8 out so far, didn't get to the place we caught the fisher and bobcat last yr. We walked part way in on Tuesday and saw bobcat and coyote tracks.

Read the story about the guy attacking the dog with a machete! About 10 yrs ago, someone shot at least 2 dogs not far from here. They never caught the guy. People were riding horses and had an Aussie Shepard with them. They heard a shot and the dog came back, but died on the way to the vet. A wk or so later, a guy was walking into the tree his squirrel dog was on and someone shot his dog. He wasn't that far away, but didn't see who did it. He got his dog to the vet and it lived, but it was shot in the face with a shotgun and was blinded.

hey guys & gals just a few lines to say hello, hav;nt hunted any lately due to the bad back but Drs are trying to get things rolling to find out whats going on, i went to Va. hospital today and had 2 shots in top of foot for another problem, well enough of this. I wish a merry xmas & happy new year to each and everyone of my sweet tea friends, love u all ----- see ya

We took the dogs out tonight. They were so HAPPY, but couldn't find a coon😞
We only got 3 more traps set today, have 11 out now. Would have more set, but weather isn't cooperating. First, too much snow, now it's getting too icey and it's suppose to rain. Waiting to see if we get enough rain to melt the ice or just turn it into glass!
Saw a guy today about a mile from here carrying out a fisher. He was a happy trapper.
