Todd,
I've been coon hunting for 15 years. I'm strictly a pleasure hunter these days, but I've done my fair share of the Nite Hunts to. I traded in the Nite Hunts for working and training young dogs. It was a good trade for me, I have more fun now watching a young dog tree for the first time than I ever did winning any Hunt.
Law Dog,
Pleasure Hunter

I am 63 years old and I started coon hunting when I was 8yrs old. I run fox hounds for short while and then back to coon dogs. I have never been in a comp. hunt. Now I can't walk much but I love going with my son and listening to the dogs.We hunt about 3 nights a week.I like to go to the hunts and look at the dogs and meet people. We have registered dogs now but some of the best I ever owned were not reg. and many were cross bred.My son just pleasure hunts also. He comp. 2 times about 3 years ago and won his cast both times. He finished 6th place at Battle Of The Breeds, I believe.
