-- Dogs changing over time? (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=928529816)
I was going to refrain from posting, but. I for one am glad they changed (dogs). Back in the day 1960's 70's. I ran to more trees hoping they would stay than I ever walked to. I am sure you guys never had hounds like that. I am not sure when or where the the tree was installed but this old, fat republican. IS FLAT glad it happened. These younger guys have never had to hang the carbide light in the tree your dog just left to run him down to shoot the coon. LOL True story. Blessed to be able still go once in a while.

Lol. I am 71 and have hunted since I was a small boy ( with my dad) , that's coon hunting and dogs leaving the tree was never a problem in these parts. We had a lot of grade dogs and X breed dogs when I was younger, but most all dogs were solid tree dogs. Dogs in these mountains were pretty nice tree dogs and accurate to boot. What I never saw as a younger hunter was dogs treeing their own coon at a pup age, they were late starters. Dave

Roy even that ole buckskin colored hound I had and the neighbors beagle and weenie dog cross we hunted stayed treed in the 70’s. Might not know what you were going to see when you got there tho. I guess it’s who you run with lol nah I am joking. Didn’t hunt them all night running dogs till lipper came along.

Oh my goodness Tarbaby, first it was the money men, now it is the rules. But you are the one that wanted the rules changed? I don't really think that I understand what you are saying.
