HTX HUNT

Hunted with Charlie Wyatt last night at HTX hunt. His dog Charlie treed a coon. The weather was suspect. My 2 year old boy got tired and played out on us.... But I have been on a lot of casts with big cry babies who couldn't use age as an excuse!

This picture was the downspout at the Fairgrounds where the hale was coming out.

This was just the general size of the hale. Note the ground in background.

Very excited for all the hunts and shows coming up. Water races are my favorite and it won't be long until they are here too.
Both of my boys have been sick, so I haven't hunted too much, although I did make a hunt test Thursday night and had a great time.

Unrelated, I have been digging out my water line due to a leak today, and when I came home tonight a red fox was in the hole. I have always read about the "dirt hole sets", but that would make a believer out of me, if I trapped.

Spring River Scout

Congratulations on Rick Salfen for his dog Spring River Scout being inducted into the Missouri State Coonhunters Assocation hall of fame. I never had the chance to hunt with the dog, but by all accounts he was a coondog!
He is still leaving his mark on the walker breed. One well known example is World Champ. Handsome Hank.

Congratulations Jeff Wyatt!

Jeff Wyatt finished Night Hawk Sid to Dual Grand Night Hawk Sid HTX last night. Jeff and Sid are a good pair. We hunted together Friday night and although neither of us won, it is always enjoyable to draw out together. It was nice to get out as I Had not been hunting.

Also, George Shurvington won best female of show Friday and Saturday night at Musselfork CHA with Finley River Sugar. She might have made show champion, or is within 5 points of such.

I hunted just Friday night but showed both Nights and took my boy. Better show dogs beat mine both days. Had a birthday party to attend last night (it was my party so my absence would have been noticed).

Anyone that is a good sport should really consider coming to the Musselfork CHA.

Can you post Sid's pedigree. I can tell you he is nice. I know the Roy Junior dog has been the best Walker dog I have hunted against. He was a coon dog bar none. Sid has his characteristics.

Kevin Mathis showed a dog up at Macon Missouri. Thanks to Kevin and George Shurvington for that! Did not do any good but glad to get a dog entered up there as I don't get up there near often enough.
