-- What is the Hottest Bluetick Stud Dog Currently? (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=928471694)

that is an interesting statement. here is another interesting statement with all the winning walker bloodlines out there their is not hardly a single one of them that are impressive. lol!
I hunt a particular line of Blueticks because it has been the most consistent producer of the kind of dogs I like to hunt. Mouth, nose, tracking ability, drive, naturally clean, and accuracy.
I'm not a competition hunter, so while there area lot of UKC titled dogs among them, they obviously aren't primarily what PKC guys are looking for.
I don't make any claims that they are the best.
They just suit me pretty good and have for 20 odd years.
I couldn't care less about being different.

I've not hunted with every line but so far he is the only 1 I have found that consistantly throws hard deep hunting blue dogs that aren't scared to get treed and stay right or wrong and be 1st tree or split treed most of the time and are tree dogs looking to get treed not run all night. Although they don't all get comp hunted the 1s that do win. They may not be the best but they will be treed somewhere weather it's right in front of you or a few sections over. Most have good mouths and can run a track right but are definitely more tree minded then any of the other lines I've seen. They will make something happen.

the blue's that i have worked with or have seen worked with have more balance than the walkers that i have had or seen worked with around me. now i understand that it's just a small sample of both breeds compared to what is out there.
what i see from the walkers are extremes. for the good or bad.
1 area i see the walker dogs have an advantage is i think they have bred great mouths into a lot of the breed. which can be a big advantage in a hunt. can't call them treed if ya can't here um.
this is just me but i will own a good well balanced dog that does nice work, over a winner who wins by how he gets the job done.
I've been a lover of Blue dogs for decades, and have mostly hunted Blues.
But there is a reason Walkers dominate the hunts.
And its not just that they are loud and have cheating owners.
From my very limited perspective, I think it is a combination of a few things...
1. Walker breeders are doing the best job of breeding the kind of dog that wins.
2. Walkers by and large haul better and are less temperamental about working in strange country with strange dogs. A lot of Blue dogs can look like a million bucks until you throw them in with strange dogs and haul them away from home.
3. Drive, independence, and heart. They have it.

i'm not sure how ya's come up with
cheating owners
i do agree with the points that you fellows expressed.
breeding for winners is good. butttttt i hope the ones doing the breeding at least look at how they came about there wins. or more importantly what traits they will be getting when they make that cross.

blue stud dog
I have a 2 yr old out of tuckers blue boomer and stebers southern blue annie up. I prefer a female to hunt 10 to 1 over a male but this one has made me keep a male for the first time in a long time. he is 65 pounds of big headed solid muscle and colored up better than any blue dog i ever had. I believe with his background he would reproduce. he is without a doubt one of the smartest hounds i ever saw in person. hunts like a dream, handles even better. good mouth, hard treedog, dont need help and a natural since birth. best manners in a kennel ive ever seen. im thinking of putting him in some of the hunts this yr. he is here for anyone to see anytime they want. anybody with a good female ill breed him for FREE. Not a perfect hound by any means but one of the nicest young hounds ive ever seen and the best ive ever owned. anybody with a good female that wants to breed to him ill even pay to superstake the litter if your female is pkc reg with dna on file. I have bought a young female and when she is ready ill raise a litter myself off him. Im offering him for free to see what he reproduces. The man that raised Oak said oak has one litter on the ground (by accident) with 5 survived and treeing coons. Im not sure their age but prob around a yr old.
