quote:So that's what the problem is. Getting to the tree too fast. I hunted Walkers for fifty years. In the last 40 trees I shined I saw 2 coons. I read on this forum that coons really look at some of these new LED lights, so I ordered a Sunfire Mini with an amber lens. I the meantime I lost my Walker to a tick borne disease. I then bought a bluetick pup. She treed 20 coons before she was one year old and I saw 16 of them in very big leafy trees. Now I'm confused. Is the difference the light, or is it the dog?

You know the only reason walkers do that so much is because they're so fast and coons are so slow. If you stick around the tree long enough the coon will probably show up.

Omg lol. It's funny cause that's not just a few walkers that do that.
And if u switched to the old style lights you'll see even more coon. Or maybe it's just me. Leds are just to brite. I get way more eyeballs than just a big white blue red spot

I prefer a slick treer, I don't have to waste time shining trees

Not all walkers are bad. There are good ones. It just bugs me that people talk up walkers that are no good.
