I skin all mine as soon as I get home with them. Never timed myself, maybe 5 mins. I keep the meat and throw the hide away. Georgia hides ain't worth much now days.

The only thing I will say about that 1 minute skin job I witnessed was that it was pretty messy. Not a lot of finesse if you know what I mean. lol

I keep thinking about the one minute for babble when I read this thread. basically what some of you guys are saying is if we could shoot coons on a comp hunt from the time we releised the dogs you guys could have the last coon skinned before the judge says the one minute is up, "that's just unthinkable to me" LOL

I seen one skinned before it hit the ground!!!!lol old farmer met us at the tree one nite said "hey you"" asked if they had it we said ya but we will get outa here sorry for botherin ya he said aint ya gunna kill it we said aint got a gun handy well he had one!! Booom that shotgun left the hide and a leg thats about it!

Skinned one in under two minutes broke tip off knife.buddy beat me but think he cheated cause he didn't skin out tail.buddy Ron Moore was rooting us on.they were not jumboes.old ones are tough.

Fast skinners

For all of you fellows skinning coons in under a minute, remember, if you go to the emergency unit with a slit wrist, they keep you in the psych ward for 72 hrs for evaluation. And when you tell then you were wading through snake and mosquito infested swamps chasing a raccoon, they might keep you forever.
