Let's have the world hunt in the winter months In the northern part of the US. Where there is no leaves. Then let's see how it all pans out

Then the same dang slick treeing summer time walker just won 15k in a northern state with the leaves off. Wow!!!__________________

Cross between a walker male and a bluetick female put on a coon treeing clinic in the finals of Super Stakes. Read where there were several out of that litter treeing coons.

I think there are good dogs in all breeds. I truly do. But what were trying to determine here is do the blueticks have the natural ability in the gene pool to win the world hunt. At least one person has said yes. But what if its like this. If you randomly select any 500 dogs from each and every breed that are competition hunted at all and look at it like that, how many are even capable at all to do it ? Out of 500 random competition hunted blueticks are there 10 that are even truly capable of winning it all ? Another aspect of it that I expect to be met with likely a hailstorm of replys is what if a HUGE factor in the whole thing is handling ? What if its very very much like Nascar ? I don't know. Im defenitly not an expert by any means. Im basically a beginner. Only entered maybe 15 competition hunts total. I'm just saying what if it boils down to who is driving the car and who has the right kind of money to pay the right kind of handler to push the dog in the world hunt ? Maybe some folks with some world hunt experience can comment on it.

I'd like to know what stud of any breed is consistently producing offspring better than themselves.

This is not about dogs. Dogs don't select their mates. People do. Blue tick, black and tan, and redbone people have what they want. If they didn't they would change. Fifty years ago you had a hard time finding a Walker that would tree. Walker breeders fixed that. Don't you think there are breeders in other breeds that could breed a different type of dog if they wanted to?
i started as a youngster with offbreeds and cross breeds then got into the hunts an went to the walker breed an hunted them for many years. they did there job in good STYLE hunted, tracked treed an looked good doing it. i realized somewere along the way i was walking way to far to way to many slick trees. it took the fun out of it. not at first but it did eventually creep up on me.
then i went hunting with a blue dog that was very accurate an pretty darn good all around dog. well i wouldn't want to have them dogs back that did it in style again. i needed to step back and take a better look.
i have hunted with some very accurate walkers also.
most of what i was told about the blueticks from walker men i have found to not be very accurate. they don't have first hand experience with the breed. here are some things i have heard that i found untrue ~late starting~boo ticking~can't compete~ just all kinds of untrue stories.
one thing i can tell is many of the bluetick men aren,t worried about winning a hunt.
most fellows that what to win a hunt automatically get a walker.
.
We drew an excellent young Bluetick last Monday up in Indiana. Treed two coon on the outside. My walker who is very accurate and very seldom trees a Den had two Den trees. The blue dog was the only one in the cast to tree a coon and did an excellent job and is less that 2 years old.
There are excellent dogs in all breeds and there are some excellent cross breeds and they are coming on fast. Yes the cross bred in the SS showed out for sure and did an excellent job.
Here is what happening with the money hunts. I think 3 out of the top 5 are almost silent. The $42,500 dog is very tight on track. Cross breeds are starting to dominate.
It has taken years for something to open peoples eyes that there are more than walker dogs out there that can win. I think the flood gates are opening. Tight mouth dogs and Cross breeds will be the future.
Please, I don't like a tight mouth dog. My partner wants me to get one. I will refrain as long as possible. I feel I can breed an open mouth hound that trees real coons. Tomorrow I may realize something different.
