Thanks Jack and Steve. I have been getting some real good pup reports on the Banjo and Hammerhead litter. They just turned 6 months in August. All of the owners keep telling me how smart these pups are and that surely is a quality of both Banjo and Hammerhead.

Nice Night

Got three pup reports on the Banjo/Hammerhead litter tonight that they had all treed there own coon. They will be 7 months on September 11. pups are in Kentucky-Arkansas and Mississippi.

Congratulations on Banjo making the reproducer list. Would love to talk to you about him sometime. I got a female that the next time she comes into heat I would love to bring some of banjos bloodline in. It will be a while before she comes back into heat. Thanks for the congrats Jukes Blues. I took Creek to the last Governors Cup Qualifier last night and won the Nite Ch part of the hunt. Nothing to write home about and I made a bad call that gave her some minus but I will work on that. She looked good but I will have to get her in the woods this week before I go to the Zones with her next weekend in Iowa. This gives her 2 wins towards GrNite. She had been in heat so we have that all over with before the kill season here in Wisconsin.
The Governors Cup Hunt is the same weekend as the Fall Roundup so I am not sure what I am going to do yet on that as I have both Creek and Nail qualified for the Hunt.

Congrats Scott on your win! She sure looks great in that picture! Her half brother Briar looked good last night Troy said. Had one dog trailing and another treed while Briar worked his on bad track up and fell treed with the meat. Good luck with her in the upcoming hunts!

Thanks Jack and Steve. Creek is a nice young female and we will give it a go at the zone hunt with her. I am hoping that by the time she is 4 or 5 she becomes a serious contender like her ancestors were.

Zones

Just got back from the zones in Iowa. We did not do much but we tried. First night she took first and first on a den tree (circled) two other dogs split and had the meat. Then she backed a dog on a slick. Then they all crossed a big river except for her they got treed and they had a den. End of hunt.
Saturday night they all got treed on a circle tree. Then I made a bad strike call and gave her some minus. Waited and took the last tree with all of them there with the meat. I called it a weekend and wished them well. Next year.

Spoke with a bunch of nice people and had a good time overall. Our guide on Saturday night was an older gentlemen that had won the world hunt in Ada, Oklahoma years ago and stressed to all of us how you need to have a good dog and a whole lot of luck to win the world hunt but you won't win if you don't go.
Some nice dogs made it through and good luck to all of them.

The blues have as good of a chance as any of them.

I agree with you totally, Scott. You can't win if you don't enter your dog and I also agree with the older gentleman about having a good dog but needing to have some luck in order to win it all. Good luck to the Bluetick hunters who are left.

The sooner this world hunt is over the sooner I can get to training that Banjo pup... From what I've seen so far, she may just train herself..

I've got a good feeling about her.. Unique mouth that is LOUD... I took a video of her the other night treeing a drag, first one she'd seen.

Can't wait to get her in the timber... Zero is going to be her pup trainer, so she better get her A game on

Fall Roundup

Had a great time at the Fall Roundup down in West Plains, Mo. Met some old friends and hopefully some new ones. Great event that I always look forward to. Won my cast with Creek on Friday night but could not get it done again on Saturday. Congratulations to all the event winners. Great job by all the event volunteers it takes a lot of work to put an event like that together.

It was good to see you. I'm glad you got a cast win at least. I hope I don't fall in any more creeks that is for sure. That water was cold and being that it was cold outside didn't help. I did have a great time in billy goat country.

NiteCh Oklahoma Blue Creek

Took Creek to a Mini Slam Last night and won it with 325+, She would have had some more but I gave her 125- not her fault. Put another win on her for GrNite and brought home a few more dollars than I left home with. She looked really solid last night. Looking forward to the next hunt but that was the last hunt of the year in Wisconsin and kill season starts tonight. I have not gave her a coon since last years kill season so I am looking forward to giving her some fur. She now has 3 wins to GrNite.

Elmo, good seeing and talking with you also down at the Roundup. That is one of my favorite hunts of the year with the people that make it to that event. Good luck with your hounds.

Thanks Elmo, Jack and Steve,
I noticed Creek had a limp and some blood on her left paw this morning so I but some medication on it and will lay her up for tonight. I will take Nail out and (hopefully) knock one out to her tonight. I don't think it is anything to get too concerned about with Creek just one of those things that happen when you hunt them.
