Scratching and nesting

Trixie was bred to Rocket again. Doesn't look to have as many in her as her previous litter, but is definitely showing some nesting behavior. The first litter shows promise with the ones messed with. 2 males are going stale in kennels, 1 male is in WI and is doing well on bears. 2 females have been treein their own for over 6 months, 1 of them has a 2nd. Both are CH on bench. Kate picked up number 3 on the bench last night and Dixie will finish quick when paul is done with kate.

We're hoping for the natural ability in this litter as the last. The 2 males going stale in no way are junk. We've all seen people that are Gung ho to get a pup but aren't Gung ho to hunt.

Paul Franzen / Kate

Paul had an excellent weekend with Kate at the Iowa State Puppy Futurity, and Governors cup. They won overall show dog of the pup futurity show, and won their cast in the hunt. Kate had 1st tree on all 3 trees scored in their cast.

They won overallshow dog in the Governors cup as well which puts her at 4 wins towards Grand ch.
They had a good hunt but fell short of the win.

We're pretty proud of this female at 14 months old, and her littermate sister Dixie who was in season this weekend.

Congrats Paul, Liz, and Cody

Congratulations to Paul and Elizabeth Franzen and Cody Anderson on some wins at Elgin IA last night. Paul put a 1st place win on Kate which puts her to a 1st and a 2nd in the hunt and 4 wins to grand show. Elizabeth put Dixies 4th win to grand show on her, and Paul handled Cody Andersons Butter Bawl, and put champion win #2 on him on the bench. All 3 of these young dogs show a lot of drive and independence. The male is the only pup that lived out of a litter of 12. He is out of a female via Thorsons Dutch and Utchmans Alberta.

Congratulations to Paul and Kate at the Iowa BBCHA State Championship last night in Anamosa IA. Paul finished Kate to a Grch showing against 5 other ch females, and also finished her to Nitech with another 1st place while winning Queen of hunt and show at 15 months old!

Season Opener

Last night was our season opener here in Iowa. A couple more young males out of the RocketXTrixie cross are going pretty well. I watched one split tree from Rocket 2 drops in a row. It sure does get the itch going again!

Is your stud bawl on the ground and chop on the tree. I was also wondering if he goes back to Perryman or Utchman blood.. nice looking hound....

He is bawl on track and chop on tree. He's out of Perry's Rushcreek Oppy and a heavy Bullet/ Smokey river bred female. His 3 generation pedigree is posted on the first page of this thread. Thanks for the compliments,

I m looking for a stud to bred my female to she's old Utchman and Perryman bred. It will be this spring. You still hunt your stud dog or some pups out of him. I would like to come up for a hunt when the weather breaks. Thanks. Chad

My daughter Alley hunted Rocket Saturday night at the reunion and had some beginners luck with the old boy winning grands with 550+.

To Paul Franzen, with now GRNITECH GRCH TURKEY RIVER BLACK EYED KATE. Paul finished her to a Grand nite champion last night with 350+ / 2nd place win at an RQE in Troy, IA. Kate is 10 days shy of 2 years old, and is out of Rockets first litter with our Trixie female.

Upcoming season

I'm hoping the farmers almanac is wrong about the weather this fall. I'm looking forward to putting a good fur season on a few pups from a few different litters.

Rocket X Lynx pups

At 10-11 months I've gotten several excellent reports about pups from this cross. 5 of them are being hunted solo, and are treeing their own.

I'm happy to see some very pleased owners.

I got him semen checked about a month ago, and he was still over 90% motility. He's been bred to 2 females since, so he will be performances in 2020.
