2014 UKC World

I don't believe I have ever hunted with Cali. I expect she is a very good one.
Boone and Woody: I have drawn both in the past, was beat by both. These 2 are real nice balanced hounds. Both are real good track dogs that have the coon. Both are loud. Ever since hunting with them, they have been at the top of my list to breed Flow to (If and when).
Richard, :-0 Woody is a grandson of Yellow River Doc and Sawblade Fiddle on the bottom.(Sawblade: Small Kennel/Big results.)
This is the farthest I've ever gotten in the hunts. The dogs and handlers I've been drawing lately are really good ones. (REALLY GOOD). We will do our best to make them see Red. .
..........
Thanks to all the Redbone hunters for your support.
Congrats to all hunting a Redbone that got Qualified, hunted the zones, got through the zones.
Cali, Boone and Woody. I hope and pray our dogs do their very best, we don't draw each other (until Saturday) and that we have good, safe hunts.
Go Redbones !!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone always looks at the dogs but just look at those 4 owners/handlers. There aren't any "Pros" there. Every man owns his own dog and has raised him/her from a pup. Every handler is as nice of a laid back and honest guy as you could ask for. Our Redbone Family can truly be proud of our representatives at the World Championship this year. You won't see any "slick" handling from these four. Even that Old Guy from up in Minnesota would proud of these handlers. I wonder how in the world these 4 ever made it to the Finals?

Good luck and have fun to the final four! Congratulations on making it this far.

Thanks Randy. You better fire up the wood lathe, cause I'm using that Coon Squaller you fixed up for me. I hope after this week you won't be able to make them fast enough.

My goodness, I just realized that Woody is just carrying on a "family tradition". Both Ranger and Kate are past UKC Redbone World Champions. I can't believe that Shane or Mark hasn't pointed that out already.

Oh my goodness, I always thought that Woody was out of Ky Moonlight Kate but now I learn that he is directly out of Ranger and a Sawblade female. I guess that he doesn't have any Kate blood in him. I guess that I am wrong once again.

Posted by Sawblade on 09-15-2014 07:13 PM:

Wrong for the right reasons

Don't worry Richard. You got it mostly right. When I look at the pedigrees on Woddy. Flow, Boone. I see very strong reproducing females. In addition you will see the top crosses of the breed in those pedigrees. Can anyone say "Supercross" I don't know Cali's ped but I'm pulling for all four dogs. Good luck to all. Make em see Red.

So, Woody, Flow, Boone and Calli are all complete outcrosses but from linebred parents.

Posted by Richard Lambert on 09-15-2014 07:33 PM:

This is Flow and Boone's first trip to the Finals.
This is Classic Calli's third year in a row.
This is Woody's first attempt at the World Championship but just how many and what big hunt Championships has he already won this year? I know that he was Grand National Champion this year but what others has he won?

Ranger, Kate, and Cali are all Outlaw Bred a few generations back.
So Boone, Woody, and Cali have some Outlaw blood in common.
All are good dogs with good handlers and people we can be proud of to represent this breed. I am happy to have met and spoken to all four in the past few weeks.
I wish them all well at the finals.

What Redbone has been to the World Finals the most? Is it Kate, Calli, Dixie, Reba or someone else?
What Redbone has been crowned World Champion Redbone the most?
