I don't normally comment on many of these issues but I would like to offer this to Jerrod, whom I consider a friend. This proposal could and would help increase attendance at sectionals but not because of tree points or count downs. The value of first prize will be the determining factor. Find a way to make the opportunity cost worth it and people will come. I know you have an auction scheduled to help but I'm not sure that will be enough.

Keith, obviously you dont have any idea what I hunt or what I like. Let me ask you a question about your beloved countdown. When ole me too covers on a slick tree after a minute how much minus does he get with a countdown and how much minus would he get under the current rules. So does ole me too get more underserved plus points or fewer deserved minus points hunting under a countdown. I know what I have seen in the numerous AKC and PKC casts I've been in. Im all in favor of giving dogs less time to cover, but I want the dog that gets there 2nd to get what it deserves + or -. Im more in favor of closing the tree sooner, 2 minutes would be fine with me. But that's not the point. This hunt is being promoted as a tool to boost attendance in sectionals which are UKC hunts, wouldn't it seem if you expect people to hunt in a UKC hunt that you would promote UKC rules?
