Common sense comes into play here for certain...but the problem you are describing is more a matter of guts. More to the point, the lack of them. The other cast members need to have the guts to stand up to a cheater and say "No, we aint gonna go for this!!!"

UKC 's position on this has always been that if the club don't stand up and stop it then that club should not be surprised when attendance at their events falls off.

The real world remedy usually goes something like this...the entire cast gets scratched, and nothing will make comp hunters grow some guts better than repeatedly losing their entry fees over some moron that is continuously trying to play everyone he hunts with.

Maybe I am not sure exactly what you are referring to here. If the guys that witnessed the "tree" first hand cant score it how is another group of "after the fact people" gonna get the job done??? To me scoring a tree is pretty simple...either the coon is there {plus points}, the tree is plainly empty {minus points} or the tree is what you are describing, questionable...he might be there or he might not but we cant see inside the hollow to tell {circle points.}

Not sure where the need for group two comes into play.

it would stop a lot of cheating

ive seen it first hand where a few buddies would be in a cast and if they where looseing they would join together and elimante there competion any way they could just to get a win on there dog also seen guys that had dogs that couldnt open on a old feeder track try saying the other guys dog was babbling but the dog would put a tree at the end and have a coon in it and seen guys getting out dogged a get beat honestley that knew they couldnt win no matter what they did get mad and with draw there dog and go home and seen one guy that had only minus points and one guy only had circle points the one guy said lets flip a cointo see who wins the cast that was a two dog cast i was spectating and that guy knows the ukc rules like the back of his hand but it didnt happen or i would of spoke up and went to ukc my self on that one a lot of nite ch and gr nits made that way its not the dog doing the winning a lot of times its the handler winning

If every time you go to a hunt and lose, then get on computer the next day and cry, your probably part of the problem.

Maybe, and just maybe you are part of the cure. When it comes to outright cheating, sooner or later, usually later the word eventually gets out. Word gets out that the dog didn't win, it was the handler. When that finally happens the fame and fortune sought and attained by the cheater magically goes away.
It's a bitter pill to have to take, getting cheated and nobody likes it. The good thing is that not too many cheaters go on to be really successful. Word of mouth is a powerful thing. I remember back in the late 80's there was a famous kennel in Virginia with a lot of champion degreed dogs. Back then just the title Nite Champion meant a lot and when most guys only ever had one this clown had over a dozen or so. His game was hunting over his feeders on his land, and he was always the judge and guide. One night I finally drew out with him and saw first hand how he did it...not only was he hunting over his feeders, he had them on the other side of a hog wire fence...with a hole cut in the fence about 200 feet away from the feeder. There was zero chance, no matter how good of a hound anyone had to get a first strike. Now this fellas dogs were no joke either, so you very rarely ever got a first tree. Especially now that your dog was left behind at the fence.
Not long after that the word got out and he was done. The sad thing is that he actually had a fairly decent line of dogs and really had no reason to cheat except that just winning wasn't enough, he had to be magnificent by having all his dogs win.
The problem to his scheme was really when it was time to take these magnificent "winners" away from home...he ran out of excuses.

I'm not complaining, crying, or ect. I just asked a ? to see how some would respond. It'd be nice to have thy option when others take advantage of you being the outsider

I asked a ?, I don't care to have a bunch of arguements & finger pointing. I've asked for people to see what they say. Everyone has made mistakes & everyone will hold them too you but ill put my $ where my mouth is & my dog against anything out there, anyway someone would want to. No need to run someone down on a public forum, just call me & set up a hunt, I hunt any night of the week.

How come in PKC guys are winning trucks with scores like 100+ But if you go to a big UKC hunt and don't score at least 1000+ your not even gonna sniff 1st place. (And yes I have seen 1000+ scored legitimately) No one registry is gonna please everyone so I guess it's a good thing that we have more then one with different sets of rules. At least we have choices. I can say this from my own experiences, I have seen less arguing over $$$ then I have over a little yellow piece of paper. I will continue to hunt both. I go to win, but also to have a good time, BS, and see some good dog work. So to get back on the subject, would it hurt to have a pannel process to check a tree that was improperly scored? I don't think so. Would it keep a questionable person a little more honest? I do think so, And as for the real cheaters they'll just find another way to put the screws to you.
Agree 100%

I think when anyone types the word y'all's instead of you, they have other issues besides scoring a tree.
