Grandch. Grandnitech. Gibbons' Uptight Spike!!

He was a full littermate to Mainstreet Roy. He has several titled dogs but very few pups. He was sorely overlooked!!

They were 1/2 litter mates, tree spike was the sire two both, , Roy's mother was the Tina female, , little spikes mother was Josh Montgomery s Bell female

I will also agree that RAT POISON was overlooked.

Doug, I know the hound that you were thinking of. I had him here for a while when Terry owned him.

yes i think that is what made me think that

Doug, I hope L.E. doesn't get overlooked, I think he is probably as good as it gets for those looking for a stud. Good luck with him. Sure would like to have one out of him and a nice female.

Posted by Doug Terrell on 07-23-2014 03:05 PM:

Brian Thanks but not worried about getting overlooked I just breed for myself and threw him out there if somebody else wants to use him after my buddy Calvin H. told me I need to run a ad after some of the pups from his 1st 2 litter of pups started treeing early. So I did and far he has done well for himself. .

Now back to the original post. .

How about
eagle creek timber
And this 1should have been breed to a lot more.
Hayes Hard time Chance.
And I can think of a lot more that I will post later

IMO

Back Creek Frankie. I had a female off of him and a daughter of Darby Creek Stalker that could flat burn a track up. She was linebred on Little Swanging Tapp. Wish I had some of her track power right now to show hunters nowadays what is sorely missing in our bloodlines. Ole Stalker was very underutilized too.

Another I forgot to mention earlier was Barber Creek Ace. I hunted with Ace.... A LOT.. when Marty got him, and talked Ferrari into breeding to him once even before that.

Although I found him a bit lazy as a track dog, he was an awesome tree dog who could be treed on his locate. He was always out there looking to get under a coon somewhere, but just not the type to take a bad track and put a coon on the end of it IMO. Super super easy dog to call, and a true top notch layup dog. As a rule I HATE male dogs..........ive only owned 2 in my entire life, but I really liked Ace.

Lookin back I can def agree he was prob overlooked. I saw Ace tree one of his first coons. He was a natural outta the gate and a PRESSURE tree dog !.Ace was born about 3 miles from me, ive Hunted with Ace many many a night and traveled many miles with him(tried to buy him once when he was about 14 mo old) brings back alot of good memories. Ace was a Straight up coondog and just a winner who liked to get by himself and would stick it in ya in a hurry and i dont ever rem seein him run any junk . when u cut him you was pullin him off a tree somewhere shallow or deep didnt matter and he'd have a coon, he was very accurate and in our country coon is thin , u need a dog to go yonder but pass up the trash as the trash is thicker. Had he not been so tight on track he would have been worth alot of money IMO. Had a good mouth when he used it. When i read yer comment i really chuckled... you just never know the guys out there and whom has hunted with certain hounds when they change hands. Thanks ! I can tell u know Ace as well. He was also bred to a few local females and has thrown some nice pups ( to the ones who had a chance) . Most of which now he shows up as a grand sire. Ace made the top 20 one year and dominated alot of casts he was put in esp local.. I know several who will appreciate yer nice comments and ill pass it on to them.

Your welcome . Not long after Ferrari and I took.....geeze I don't even remember what female it was now........down and bred to him, I got a call asking me to come pick him up and promote him/buy him/find the "right place" for him.
As I said before, I REALY don't like hunting male dogs, and I already had Looser....and I rarely let a female back up to a male the RARE times one is even around here........

Marty wanted him though so we went down and got him. Over the next several months we hunted him and Loose togather, and Ace impressed me. Loose was the kind who took his tracks as he came to them and put a coon at the end regardless. Ace was the type who just liked to get under a coon. They were different types, and ALMOST NEVER ended up under the same tree togather. but I came to appreciate the mesh of styles.

I would have to say that I regret not getting, hunting, and breeding enough dogs to :

Briar Creek Snake (I had one pup who was coon crazy but she never came in heat for me. I should have bought another)

Rat Poison (Loved the way he hunted)

Gibbon's Uptight Spike ( Loved the way he hunted, but didn't have a finished female to breed to him to)

Durango ( he went sterile on me and everyone wanted to breed to his half brother Rooster instead of driving to Iowa to breed to Durango. Durango was a LAZY breeder and we always had difficulty getting the job done.)

ya.......I remember spending half a dang day trying to get him bred to Jodie lol........and leaving Racket at Ferrari's for a week so he could get the job done..........and that little rip was a hoochie lol.

I never regretted making either cross though..........and that's coming from someone who HATES raising pups.

CH. GRANDNITECH. LITTLE RIVER RED SPOOK

He is a full brother to PKC WORLDCH. HARDTIME ALSOME only from an older litter. Travis Smith was never able to push him due to his tough work schedule.

I know I hate I never got a chance to collect his semen.
