She's still in great shape, had her at my vet about 2 months ago, he told me he wouldn't be surprised if she live a couple more years, she will be 13 the 12th of October ! She still hunts like she is 7 or 8 years old , I'd she was I'd breed her to Jobe, gonna miss that old girl, she's a Dandy ! U thinking on a Mullins Feist ? Mine has been treeing squirrels in the yard since she was a lite over 4 months old, have a male booked for late this winter from Jody, something I can breed back to her later !

This morning was Janet's first trip to the woods and I was very proud of her and how she hunted in some woods that have been hunted hard by hunters that don't use dogs, hunted a couple of hours early before it got hot and started pouring rain, she made one tree and it had a nest in it, bayed to box turtles ! She hunts on the run and scans the trees will and really uses her nose, anyway now it's just a lot of woods time for her !

My huntin Buddy has a male booked for late this winter, Jody told me if their hunted they'll get er done, and if for some reason they don't bring her back and he'll replace it, takin her out in the morning for a hunt !

Had good hunt this morning, squirrels weren't moving much early, 2nd time here her in the woods and she almost caught one on the ground twice and put it in a hole, treed pretty good on it for 10 months old !

Well back the timber in the morning with my pup, gonna have a tracking collar on her this time as she's starting to hunt really wide, modern gun deer opens state next Saturday morning for 9 days straight and I'll be on a deer stand myself all that time plus those days here is no time to be in the wounds walking around with a Squirrel dog :-)

I'm new to Feists, ask me about Bluetick lines and I probably can add two cents to those lines, what's the differences in the McAndrews and Mullins lines of Feist or other lines ? Just curious, is it the same just line bred dogs for many years like the lines , Uchtman, Jet, Hammer in the Bluetick lines ?

Posted by McSquizzie on 11-10-2013 12:45 AM:

The difference? 5mph and 300-400 yards.

Two cool

LOL u want hardly catch a coon hunter that hunts hounds hunting anything cross bred or whatever :-)

Posted by twocool on 11-18-2013 04:29 PM:

crossbred

both breeds are coon/squrrill dogs the Denmark fiest is a 30 35 pound fiest and mountainveiw cur is 45 65 and my dog is a 48 pound dog. and is smarter than most hounds I have hunted walkers and blueticks most of 40+years of coonhunting don't get me wrong I like hounds. but he seems to get the game quicker and he is allaround better for me.

Just curious, do most of y'all seem to have a good crop of squirrels this year ? Over in the River bottoms where I mostly hunt they seem to be real spoty, I think the flood waters of the past 2 springs and winter have thinned them down here !

Just a guess but is the Janet pup out of the Slick dog that Jody owns? If so I have a male dog out of him that's 3 years old. Jody also has a web page. Just search mullinsfeist.com. There are a few pics on the site of a hunt we went on in late February. Jody took 4 of us on a hunt and we limited out.
