I saw that somewhere. Oh thats right. Its in the dictionary under george bush jr. I think I saw it in a interview with Mitt Romney the other day too. Somebody ask how'd that republican run for President work out for ya?

Rance- I am reposting your question. You had a big ninny fit that I answered the wrong question. I obviously did not. When you refer to the "great empire of china" you opened the topic up beyond current day communist China.

But if you want to talk about only current day communist China- they are blowing America out of the water with their scientific and technological advancements. They may have lagged behind us in the past but those days are gone.

If America wants to be successful again it is going to have to take a good hard look at itself, drop the attitude, and make a commitment to ALL OF US DOING BETTER AGAIN. Not just the 1%ers. ALL OF US. But committing to an entire society doing better would by definition be socialism. And we just can't have that now can we.....

Its pretty black and white how Obama won the election and imo he won without his dignity. But hey if some of us want to stand behind a man like that go right ahead. Always say it takes all kinds to make the world go round. This statement shouldn't offend anyone.

Obama won because more Americans voted for him. Its that simple. People voted, votes were counted, obama won. Its called 'elections'. Happens every 4th year for Presidents. Been happening for a VERY long time. Anyone who hates our American way of doing things should move to korea. I hear they don't have them over there.

Mike, freedom isn't really free right? we have to work for it and earn it. And if these other countries that just so happen to be left leaning are able to balance their budget and buy up our debt then they will own us and we won't really be free anymore will we? which brings us to the point that I was trying to make- we need to figure out which of their policies are working so well and consider them. because the "list the waste" question is THE big question. but which expenditures are a waste and which are not? is it a waste to build and maintain infrastructure? what military spending is wise and what is foolish.
what are these other countries doing right that they are running budget surpluses? or that their citizens are wealthy enough to buy up our debt?
I am not so foolish as to think cause they are running better budgets than we are that things are all fine and good over there. nor am I suggesting that cause our budget is looking so bad that we can't turn it around. It would be foolish to close our eyes to other's successes in a way that it limited us from having our own success.
I'm not really a cut and run kind of guy. I would rather stay here and fix things up.....

Obama is on his 5th year. He's not going to be able to blame Bush at the end of 8 years. So far he's done nothing that has helped. He better get on the stick or you're going to need an awful lot of salt to go with the crow.

I work in the coal industry. I was not and am not a big Bush fan. But I will say that every year that he was in office, I got a raise at work. I am lucky right now that I still have a job. Out industry has lost thousands of jobs in the last few years. I have not gotten a raise in over two years. I pay way more for less health care coverage than I did before. I pay way more for gasoline, groceries, and living in general than I did before. I see my child with a college education struggling to find a good paying job with any health/retirement benefits. I can't go to a store around here and even buy 22 ammo. Not saying it is all due to Obama, but dang he sure has not helped me one bit. I am not better off now than I was 4 years ago and I doubt I will be better off when his run is over. Thanks for letting me vent a little!!

Let's be frank about it. Most people working for a living and paying their fair share of taxes ain't no better off today than they were 10, 15, 20. or 40 years ago. They always make just enough money to survive. The reason you quit getting raises under Obama is simple to figure out. Most of the big companies are run by repubs. So why give raises when a democrat is in office. It goes round and round.

Stock Market.......I have lost track on how many record breaking days we have had. ( I have made back what I lost during Bush)

Veterans.......Obama has done more for them then any President in history. (Budget cuts will hurt many, but we are to fat in this area)

House Market......Construction is booming, and housing/property prices are getting back on track.

Jobs........I have lost track on how many straight months of job growth we have had.

Healthcare.......Those that don't haven't will and those that don't want it will be mandated. Finally!

The list is endless, but I'm sure you have rebuttal for everything, so why bother. You mentioned helped, what help are you looking for?

You have never seen me brag on Bush. But, he never tried to ban any type gun and.....what tax benchmark did Obama use for the middle class? I'll give you a hint....It wasn't Clinton's-after him but before this one.
