because the dog actually treed 2nd. It is a race between 4 dogs. Have you ever seen a race with no 2nd place finisher? Last I checked they still give out silver medals.

did it not tree second.... if it had of been the strike should it have had to take last strike because it struck second... i cant figure out why you want to skip 2nd and 3rd tree unless they are kicking your tail.... it just doesnt make sense.... nothing i know of skips from 1st to 4th place except in coon hunting and it shouldnt.... if you have a certain amount of time to do something you should get accounted for how you place in that time frame... it also keeps my dog from getting 25 when it tree 3 trees over from yours and yours pulled to it cause you cant tell one moved

Lets reward dogs that are ridiculous slow at tracking and dogs that wait or one to bark and take off running. Lol. To each his own I guess. If y'all like feeding that junk and patting up old blackie for getting there within the 5 more power to ya...

you messed that up you mean when yours covers mine. Cause if mine won't stayed treed or covers it won't be at a hunt. I don't hunt junk

Here's my last post on this subject... What you see in UKC is alot of
Guys that go to hunts for more fellowship than anything. There isn't any real prizes... Just go, pay your entry, and get a yellow slip. Normal UKC hunters don't mind dogs covering, they don't mind me too dogs, they don't mind track straddlers, they put up with alot of stuff that hardcore competition hunters absolutely won't tolerate.

Your typical UKC hunter has several hunting buddies that he hunts with through the week with several dogs being cut loose, all getting treed together, and then shooting a coon out to 3-4 dogs.

I bet you that you will never ever are a serious/professional/successful competition hunter do those things... They destroy independence and will make a naturally independent dog, a pack dog quick!

Mine? Mine rarely ever sees another dog except when he's getting set up to cover and if he even thinks about heading to the other dog treed he's getting his brains fried and then if he doesn't get outta there and get treed right somewhere quick... He's getting it again.

There is a reason that the same guys produce top notch quality dogs year after year after year after year and its not because they think that a dog Treeing 4 minutes late deserves 75. Don't believe me? Call em and ask what they do when a dog covers late. I know alot of them, myself included, that will eat a 30-60$ entry to correct the dog on the spot because covering late is a culling fault. If they can't be broke from covering late, then they don't stay around long. So I guess if y'all wanna stay in the same "I'm ok with average" rut, then by all means, pet ole Rufus up when he covers late but while you're doing that, go ahead and tree mine in there deep and lonely.

You take them covering bucket feeder dogs to Ukc hunts and yes they will win but once you get then grand then what? You're left with a grand nite pile of sh*t You can't hunt them in anything else maybe a few big Ukc hunts.... They usually try Pkc but when they get there eyes beat out All there is to do now is bash Pkc cause they are jealous and then here comes the rumors about Pkc holds mean dogs and blah blah blah

Oh I agree with you 100% they have bred the Ukc Walkers to tree do much all you got out there is slick treeing me 2 idiots and the other breeds are following right behind English is right there with them and the rest is in fast pursuit

I have paid my dues 1 time in 6 years and only did it then because I hunted walker days... I want nothing to do with that political mess. And why the other dogs were busy me tooing each other all night mine was through the world with raccoons. Me=1500+ combined over 2 nights, getting 2 ntch wins. The 6 dogs I drew=275+ Combined. Mine was trained to not cover, get by himself and tree coons, there dogs were the product of "even if its 4 minutes in, it's still second!"

I went to a HTX hunt this Monday They hunted 7 dogs 3 passed the ones that did not pass was for not going hunting

I think it should be approved, if the second place dog is actually working the same track when dog 1 trees then it should not take the other dogs long to tree and will get the points they deserve, if they are just me to dogs and covering then they don't deserve to get 75pts. Say you are down to 2 dogs, dog 1 trees, while dog 2 is on a different track, finally dog 2 gets to the same tree dog 1 is on after 4min and 59 seconds. Dog 2 does not deserve 75 pts, if count down rule was there dog 2 would get the points he deserves 25pts.
