Damon, It will be after the show.

It is hard to estimate how many dogs will show or hunt. Hopefully ALOT.

Hmm that is up to the MOH, but entry deadline is 8:00, the hunt is 1 1/2 hours, so I can't believe it would be to late. So what I am saying is "I don't know".

Depending on how many cast we have some of them may have to drive a little ways. The furthest will be about an hour. All of the cast will be in coon country. The hunt deadline to enter is 8:00, and hoping cast are sent out by 8:30, so taking some of the driving into consideration I'm thinking it will be 2am. I don't want people rushing back for deadline with kids in the trucks.

how well do the kids need to know the rules I have 2 boys 9,10 this would be there first hunt they dont know alot and I dont want it to be a negativefirst hunt and them to lose intrest

The judges will help explain the rules and help the younger kids. They will still get plus, minus, and circle points accordingly. We want it to be fun and fair for all the kids.

Well done!!

The show and the hunt were both a success! It was great watching the kids have fun and have big smiles on their faces! I'm happy to say that the kids that my husband guided and judged showed great sportsmanlike conduct. They didn't have to be told that they were getting minus, THEY said when they needed to be minused, they found each others' coon, and they told each other their dog did a good job, and shook hands! It was great to watch! We had a mixture of experienced kids and 2 kids that were never in a comp. hunt before. We were impressed by all of them, but a 15 year old named Bryson really stood out! He knew the rules better than most adults that I've ever drawn. I'm sure I'll be reading about him in the future doing good things in this sport! Great job needs to be said to all of the kids, Jackie, Bengie, and to the Geauga Co. CHA! Well done!!

A TOTAL SUCCESS!!!!!!!!

I don't even know where to begin. The kids had a blast and the parents enjoyed watching their kids compete. Everyone I spoke with seemed to be having a good time. It was an amazing event and I feel blessed to be a part of it. We had 23 kids enter the bench show, and 37 kids enter the night hunt. There were families that drove 4+ hrs to get to this event. From the bench show, to the treeing contest, to the raffle, and to the night hunt there were huge smiles on all the kids faces. Especially after the raffle. Each kid got to go up 4 times and pick out items.

To the OSSDA and UKC for letting us host this event.

The Youth Championship was a Great Day. Lots of Kids. Bengie, Jackie, and all the rest of you did A fantastic job, in Having a wonderful hunt for the Kids. Its great to get the kids involved. They are the future of our sport. Hats off to Geauga co. Coonhunters for Having a great turn out. !!!! Great Job.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL!!
This was a great event! Bengie poured a lot of hard work into this and it paid off with a big turnout.
I was amazed at all the raffle items. I remember going to youth event and they would have a small table set up and not everyone would win something, but they had tables and boxes full of items and the kids were called up 4 different times and picked out anything they wanted.
I fully enjoyed judging the Bench Show and will always remember it!
I also took a cast of 3 seventeen year olds to the woods and got to see some decent dog work.

Very successful event in my book!
