Thumbs up

I'm still wet behind the ears to most, but I remember:
-$1.00 gas,
-having a ford with nasty big block was the most awesome thing ever to happen.
-We made fun of you if you didn't have a CB, whips on your mirrors or tool box, you were a big dog if you had a CB amp.
-Spending all week working on your truck only to go tear it up on friday/saturday night.
-Parkin
-Asking a girl out in front of her friends
-High school basketball games were important, not just something to hold you over until football season started
-Not understanding why kids your age weren't in 4-H and FFA
-Getting knocked out for being disrespectful to anyone
-When the cops would come by the walmart parking lot just to say hello, not because they were afraid you were doing something bad
-Chocola was in a glas bottle, and was still on the shelf
-Riding bikes everywhere you needed to go
-When the term "meth" was new, around here anyway

remember saying if cigs ever hit a dollar a pack i would quit... one of the biggest lies i ever told.... remember going to church everytime the doors were open and if someone wasnt there someone went to check on them.... remember when there was no such thing as posted land and the neighbors would bust my tail if i did something wrong just like my parents... remember taking my guns to school and cleaning them during study hall along with half the other guys in class.... i for one would enjoy going back to those days... the closest i can seem to come is hunting season where i dont have internet or cable tv and my cell doesnt work well enough most days to even send a text... came home today and have to get back into civilian life for a few days i guess and then hope to have a few more weeks to enjoy slow living before i hit it again the first of march.... also remember my wife saying to slowdown... now she ask why im driving so slow... told her i was tired of being in a hurry lol

I remember when we would go to bed at night and NEVER lock a door or window. Now, before we go to bed we lock everything up.

I remember stopping by the market, ran by only the owner, everyday after school and sit on the porch drinking a coke that only cost 15 cents.

I remember alot of weekends us schoolboys got together and ran dogs all night that would not tree. Now there is not 1 kid that I know of that hunts in that town. Back then around 8 or 9 of us got together every weekend.

I can remember 3 hour hunts that would draw 50+ dogs and a win was something that you could be proud of.

I can remember most dogs were not PR bred back then.

LOL I can remember more than I want to write. Sure miss being a younger person.

We never could get but 2 channels on TV. lol... Dad would climb on top of the house and twist and turn on the anntenna and Mom would holler when it was best picture.... and best always had some snow in the pic. lol

Then Dad would climb down and work on the TV picture with that vertical roll. After another 5 minutes of fine turning , we'd all settle in to watch Carol Burnette or Gunsmoke...

The next night we'd have to go through the whole process all over again. rofl.

Ain't that the truth! I remember my 5th grade teacher, who was 6' 4" in. tall and about 260 lbs ( yes, my teacher was a man ) gave me a whack, and it still hurts 45 yrs later! He also became a good friend to me as I was growing up!

I also remember, when I thought Professional "Wrasslin" was the real deal!
