I believe this young man can teach us old dogs some new tricks. You might want to listen to what he has to say.

I never had to corner a woman where she worked and was paid to be nice in order to get a date .. which you aint gonna anyway , she's just grinning at you to make your wallet jump .

If someone even pays you fifty bucks to try and train their dog , send it to me and I'll give you some pointers on how to avoid being the nerd that brings their dog in all the time just to gush over the vet and get made fun of when you leave..

if a person wants to hunt hounds why pay someone else to hunt them for you.i guess when they pay to have them trained and pay somebody to hunt them in the hunts they can pay for there wins too? and set back and roll in the stud fee money for a dog they paid someone else to train.i take pride in training my hounds and i train them to suit me.and when i cant hunt them anymore i will give it up.paying someone to make a dog for you seems a little lazy and pathetic to me

I have never understood that either? What is there to be proud of or to brag about if you cant do it yourself! I'd honestly be ashamed to brag about something I had no part in other than footing the bill.... The sad part is, is that these are usually the people that can't keep their mouths shut and bragging/claiming credit on something that isn't even theirs to claim.

You take your dog to the vet every two weeks but you include this in what you would charge some else to hunt there dog? But one sentence later you say that they don't charge you to look at your dog but again this was a part of your quoted price.

Reading this thread made my head hurt. Your story changed 20 times through the posts to accommodate different people's recommendations... And secondly, no one is going to take a dog they are training for someone to the vet twice a month and eat the cost. That makes absolutely no sense. Did anyone notice how "Frankenstein" posts directly After the thread starter posts and always talks about how "you guys can learn something from him" etc... Hmmmmmm....?. Lol. I am good friends with some of the most well respected dog trainers in the coonhound world and I'm 100% sure that they would find this post as ridiculous as I did. I call BS.

Well I've been reading this thread and maybe I'm high but that's what I do is start puppies and tune up finished dogs. I get $600 a month but the first week I get a pup its a $100 we gonna see what the pup has first if I think it will make it I'll take it further if not its going home I'm not eating my time or yours on a s*** eater. But maybe that's why the dogs I start are winning big hunts and leading state races in pkc I have plenty of references that will tell you not everyone knows how to finish or train a dog. Anyone can start one but not everyone can put the finishing touches on it to make it hunt ready. Right now one of the pups I am finishing out has 3 wins towards grand and she has her pkc money won and is 12 months old had her here since she was 8months old she has what it takes and seen that in her from the word go and the man continues to pay to get her finished cause the dog had it. And he knows I can do it and its not the first one of his I've had he keeps coming back
