Congratulations

My congratulations to the Heartland Federation and especially to Erika Froeming for continuing to grow this great event. The goal from the start was to provide a major event for the great folks in Wisconsin and the Upper Midwest, something they never had before. It was a privilege to have been in the very earliest planning stages of this event and to see it continue to grow and prosper is very rewarding. This event was never about one registry or the other. It was about the coon hunters of the Midwest. There is a proud tradition that goes with this event and may it continue. I know you will enjoy the Heartland Classic as I have always enjoyed it. Great hunting, great people. A win-win for you!

Thanks Steve, well said. This year is the 8th Annual Heartland Classic, though it is our first year with UKC. We sure are thankful to those that helped the Heartland Houndsmen Federation continue to grow this event... Yourself, Jerry Moll, and so many more. We will miss you this year!

We are so excited to partner with UKC this year, and expect to have great entries in the bench show, field trial, and water race as well as the "Wheeler Hunt". Something for everyone!

We have some very generous prize packages for anyone making it to the winner's circle this year. Cabelas gift cards for water race and field trial Overall Winners. Unique gifts going to the Overall Show Winner. And, of course, trophies all the way around!

Oh.....and a brand new Polaris Sportsman ATV to winner of the hunt!!!!

And for those wanting a back-up plan to win a wheeler, we are selling a limited number of raffle tickets for a chance to win yet another Polaris Sportsman 500. Try your luck both ways! $10 per ticket. Contact me to find a ticket seller near you or to order by mail.

"Great hunting, great people" sums it up just right.

We hope to see everyone there soon!

I will say this guys; I am really looking forward to going to the Heartland Classic. I've been through that part of Wisconsin, but I've not had the opportunity to hunt. I've got plans to go out with John Dunlavy on Thursday night and tree some WI coon!

You should bring Allen with. There are a few red dogs up in that area.

Wishing everyone safe travels and a great time at the Heartland Classic this weekend! Save a little room, just in case, to haul a four wheeler home.

Allen

It should be a big hunt after 2+ in. of rain last night. Beautiful weather & noone busy planting, so "let's go coonhuntin', boys & girls". Take care, Ron.

The weather I think will be perfect for a big coonhunt. It's in the mid-40's right now and surprisingly nice. It looks like the rain may have cleared out for the weekend (though there is a slight chance of showers late tonight). The high today is 60 and 57 tomorrow. May not be beach weather but it is wonderful coonhunting weather!

The Heartland Houndsmen Federation really needs to be commended for all the hard work they've put into this event. Most of the group met last night to make sure everything was ready for the event. They all got busy decorating and getting the trophies and prizes together for the winners. You can really tell that they take pride in this event and want it to be the best possible.

Right now vendors are setting up and the kitchen should be fired up before long here in the headquarters building. We've heard from several hunters from all areas that are busy making the trek to beautiful Mineral Point.

See you all here!!

Thanks for the update Paul. Keep us posted. I'll be hunting a top hound in cyberspace this weekend. That Felderman guy scares me too much to actually go out on a hunt with him.
