TRIPLE CROWN

GOT THE BLOODLINES THIS DATE AND SHOWS WHERE SAM LOST THE TRIPLE CROWN BY A TIE BREAKER WITH RIVER. WAY I READ IT, IN ORDER TO BREAK THE TIE, THE DOG WITH THE MOST PLUS POINTS OVER ALL IN THE THREE MAJOR HUNTS ENDED UP THE WINNER.
RIVER MUST BE A GOOD HOUND FOR HE WINS WHEREVER HE IS SET DOWN.

I think this cross of Sam and Zee should make some fine ones also.
Yes I am proud of Sam and really enjoy hunting this hound. I am gonna bring him up before long, along with Mattie and let you watch them.
I turned him loose alone 3 times last night in this snow and he done a good job of treeing three.
After putting Sam in the truck, I then cut Mattie and she went 650 yds and treed but on a den.
Turned her again from that point and she went 600 yds and got struck then another 300 and treed with the big boar. Tough walking , took me 45 mins to get back to the truck. She does a fine job. Goes as far as needed to get a coon and what a tree dog. She will finish into Grand this spring. As of now She finished to Nite ch with two first and one second and has one win toward Grand. I just have not pushed her. She just turned two last month. Take care and hope to see you before long.

Bill,

Just thought I'd let you know "Dot" seems to be adjusting well up here. First time I took her out it was after 11PM and 14 degrees when I left the house, but I couldn't pass up an opportunity to get some exercise. She made a den, then I cut her from the tree and she went 300 yds to a bulldozer pile. She ended up coming out of the bulldozer pile and was running hot, but pulled the trigger one tree short next to a den tree.

Tonight I took her out with a young male that doesn't know a lot yet, and she made 2 dens, 1 tree with a coon, and she went in and got one out of a road tube for me so that I didn't have to. She has an incredible tolerance for pain as she went in there and never made a peep. They came out the other end before I was able to get down and look in there. I wasn't sure what was going on, and the next thing I knew she was 50 yards out onto the frozen lake killing a coon, and doing a good job of it. She's rekindled a flame that I haven't really had since my young male out of Pounder that died way too young. I'm excited to see what future holds.

She will get those ole boar coon treed in this time of year.
Just like I told you she has not been hunted a lot lately but should look ok and will look better as you hunt her more.
Best of luck with her. if I had not had these pens full of young hounds she would of stayed here. She will enjoy you as much as much as you enjoy her for she loves to hunt. Best of luck with Dot. She is a sweet one. Great personality and disposition.
