Here is Zeke one year after those first pictures were taken. Is that a tiny dog or a giant tree?

Here Zeke is back in Tennesse last night. He and his half sister were sure making this holler ring.

Starting young

Richard this line of dogs we are hunting all seem to be starting very young. I am hearing of pups trailing and treen off several of these T-TOP bred males. Moose, Deuce, Haze, Red, Rocky,Rage, and the list goes on. I got a couple reports on two male pups off Deuce X Musicmake that will be 5 months old the 19th of this months. They are doing big things for suce little guys. Keep us posted on those young dog of yours.

Richard, it was good to talk with you in Arkansas. Your Zeke dog is a beautiful hound. I wished I would have had a chance to see him go. Maybe next year. I enjoy seeing nice Zack bred hounds being enjoyed by hunters. You are doing the same thing I have done by breeding for pups with Zack and Little Zack showing up on the top and bottom of their pedigrees. Works doesn't it! I am on my 4th Zack and he is really pleasing me. Keep me posted on his progress and good luck in the hunts.

Rob, Zeke looked real good down at the Grand American on Friday night. He treed the only 2 coons that we saw but got beat out of one of them. That is the way that it goes sometimes. We never saw a coon on Sat night. We grubbed a couple of bad tracks and made a couple of den trees but never saw a coon. Zeke and I will try again at Southern Redbone Days in Feb. I got to hunt with an old male on Wed night that is directly out of Bomber and a Zack female. He is a good hound and I hope to get his genes back in the mix in the near future.

Well, my bubble did bust this morning. Zeke died from Lymes desease and Blastomycosis. My attempt to recreate Gr Nt Ch Haye's Rambling Red Zack has failed. Zeke just won Best Of Show Male at Southern Redbone Days last Friday and Saturday. He was looking good but seemed tired on the hunt Fri night so we didn't hunt him Sat night. He didn't eat this week so I took him to the Vet Thursday and started him on medication Fri but he did not make it.

Richard I am so sorry to hear that Zeke is gone. Seems a lot of good ones have passed away this winter. it seems a coincidence he passed away from this as Old Zack contracted a tick born disease right after I bought him from Terry. I had hunted him the night before at a hunt and he had won a Nite Champion win towards Grand and I took him back the next night to try to get another and he got stiff and lethargic at the hunt so I called the vet and left the hunt and went directly home to the vet. By the time I got him there he couldn't even stand. At that time the vet had not seen any tick born diseases in my area. They were mostly in the south. The vet sent us to the University of Missouri Vet School and they diagnosed him and put him on antibiotics and saved him. If I hadn't been quick about it I would have lost him as a 4 year old. Zeke looked so much like him in the pictures I saw of him on the tree but when I saw him in person he was a prettier hound than Old Zack. This is really disappointing as I was thinking about trying to work out something with you and Zeke when I was ready to raise another litter with Dolly. He Sure was a nice young hound.
